Well, it’s about time! For over thirty years fans have been clamoring for a Sunbow inspired Tomax and/or Xamot in their Extensive Enterprises suits and now we’ve got them!
Of course, for o-ring fans there was the Crimson Guard 6-Pack from Toys “R” Us which satisfied us somewhat, but this is a full blown modern era version with the right jacket and pants colors and everything. I’ll have to get a closer look at that flower deco, though…
Check out this final reveal at GIJoeClub.com… but don’t fret! There’s still Salvo. The Club is supposedly working on a new build for him, hopefully we’ll hear something about that shortly as well. Until then, check out all the FSS 5 entries as we know them now below!
With absolutely no idea what this episode was going to be like, considering we never saw a promo on television, I ended up very pleasantly surprised! Long time Joe fans will want to know that this episode was written by Eugene Son, of YoJoe.com fame, who has a long and established history writing for the animation industry.
Eugene’s ties to the Joe fandom have never been more evident than they were with this episode, as we got a number of great little Easter Eggs and a very cool, action packed 22 minutes.

It’s “G.I. Joe: Renegades Eve” (in other words, Thursday!) and since a new episode premiered last Friday, Hubworld.com has it posted today! See what all the hubbub is about with this new and improved (???) Tomax and Xamot!
Truth be told, I’m not so sure they’re improved, but I enjoyed the episode anyway. Check it out right here.
I was able to get a head start on it tonight, so I’ve completed the review and the entry for G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 13 is now listed in the Episode Guide of the Renegades SuperSite. Featuring the introduction of Tomax and Xamot, things look to be moving closer to the big conflict.
Scarlett is still evidently hiding some secrets in that locket of hers… when will we uncover her relationship with Cobra?
Just as a reminder for Joefans everywhere, this evening The Hub is bringing back G.I. Joe: Renegades after a very short three-week break. At 6:00pm Eastern tonight, Episode 13: Brothers of Light will air.
Also as a reminder, the GeneralsJoes G.I. Joe: Renegades SuperSite is your one-stop shop for everything Renegades! Character bios, video clips, episode guide with episode reviews, screenshots, etc… Things are more or less caught up over there with character profiles of everyone right up to Firefly.
Expect Episode 13 to be added to the guide tonight, as well as the promo for next week’s episode, which promises the return of the enigmatic and controversial Zartan!
Check out the SuperSite right here, and don’t miss Brothers of Light tonight on The Hub! Video from the episode is below.
Took a few extra days after dealing with an ice storm and unexpected power outage, but GeneralsJoes is back online and uploading!
G.I. Joe: Renegades was also offline for a little while, taking about a three week break, and now they’re back with “Brothers of Light” an episode focusing some attention on Tomax and Xamot, the corsican twins!
I was finally able to snag the promo tonight, and it has now been posted to my YouTube Channel. Check out the promo below.
Keep your eyes peeled to The Hub at 6:00pm Eastern this Friday!
It hits comic shops today, and I plan on having a review up within the next 24 hours or so, but figured I should probably post the preview at some point, too! Check it out below. This marks the final issue of this particular installment of the G.I. Joe: Cobra title before we get ready for another “reset” of sorts in May.
G.I. JOE: COBRA #13
Mike Costa, Christos N. Gage (w) • Antonio Fuso (a & c)
After the shocking events of last issue, all bets are off for the last chapter of Chuckles’ undercover saga. He’ll have to face enemies, friends… and, finally, himself. Costa, Gage, and Fuso finally bring one of the most shocking GI Joe stories of all time to a close, and not everyone is getting out alive.
Once again, the MTV Movie Blog delivers with some very neat info regarding the potential sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Continuing their talk with the writers of the sequel, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the interviewer brought up the idea of Tomax and Xamot…and apparently the reactions of the writers gave it away.
“Oh yeah, well–” Reese said, catching himself before continuing, “… okay, maybe.” Both writers then laugh. A little too hard. Interesting.
“I can’t say,” Reese continued. “You may have just read it off my face but I can’t say.” A pause. “Can’t say.”
But it doesn’t stop there, and when the interviewer pressures them a bit more…
“It could be a disaster,” Reese agreed. That’s when the bomb drops, the closest we get to confirmation that the duo will at least be attempted; Wernick adds “We hope to do it right.”
Tomax and Xamot have the potential to be pretty awful in a cinematic setting…but they also could be pretty cool as well. Sure, they were ridiculous in the Sunbow cartoon, but I think Larry Hama handled them quite well in the Marvel Comics, and of course, they’re deep, conflicted, and totally enthralling in G.I. Joe: Cobra. Hell, maybe we can hope that some influences will be pulled from G.I. Joe: Cobra (based on the popularity of that title) for the movie in general. But that might be hoping for too much.
The G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club has updated their Convention website, GIJoeCon.com with the box art for the upcoming Crimson Strike Team Convention set as well as a group shot. Click here to check out the update.
Most important item to note is that a crimson repaint of the RHINO helicopter is featured heavily on the box art which might indicate that it serves as the attendee exclusive this year.
