You know I almost didn’t post this, because as usual, I missed an episode with a famous Sunbow voice actor, and the guys took the opportunity to rib me about it…so screw ‘em, right?

Nah.  I’m nothing if not forgiving, so I’ll play nice and post the latest update for the What’s on Joe Mind podcast.  This episode the guys are joined by Sunbow voice actor Neil Ross, who voiced the indelible Shipwreck, one of the most popular characters in the G.I. Joe mythology!

They also tackle all the latest news and information, and talk about the GIJCC 2012 Convention Set in its entirety. I’m jealous that I didn’t get the chance to share my .02.  Ah, well, maybe I’ll make them revisit it tomorrow night.

As G.I. Joe fans wait eagerly for JoeCon registration, which is very likely to happen today, the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club has posted a “Package Matrix” which breaks down all of the various packages you can purchase and what is included with each one.

As soon as convention season grows near, it seems like the questions continue to pop up year after year about this year’s convention.  What does “golden ticket” mean, what do I get with my registration… how can I get a set if I’m not travelling to New Orleans?

The guys jump back into our regular weekly show with a full compliment this time around as Chuck, Gary, Mike and myself all come together to uncover more G.I. Joe related secrets!  I’m sure everyone remembers that little 16 bit G.I. Joe themed game that was floating around the internet a few weeks ago, Attack on Cobra Island?  Well, we dig down into the center of it in this show, tracking down and interviewing the mysterious creator behind the video game.  He gave us some terrific insight and information about the game, tells us its current status (PS, you can download it RIGHT NOW) and what happened with the whole Hasbro situation.

We also took a few minutes to talk to Counterpunch from the Seibertron Twincast Podcast to uncover how Transformers fans feel about Fun Publications and the Collectors’ Club, and I think G.I. The past few episodes of What’s on Joe Mind have been somewhat of a whirlwind…between the big 50th Episode, the special edition focusing on G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and our one year anniversary we’ve been trying to do a lot of special things.  Well, episode 53 the guys get back to basics a little bit, bringing 12″ aficionado Ace Allgood back to the show and beginning the push towards JoeCon 2012!

Wow, it’s hard to believe that it’s been a full year since the What’s on Joe Mind podcast launched, but the guys certainly know how to celebrate.  Episode #52 features not just an interview with Michael Bell to celebrate, but we also opened our phone lines to all of our fans!  For over three hours we had a constant stream of callers dialing in to shoot the breeze, ask questions, and just generally have some fun.

Not only that, but we had some old friends stop by and hang out on the show for a little while, which was a really fun, awesome experience.

As you may have guessed from the flood of content all hitting simultaneously, there have been some G.I. Joe: Retaliation footage screening events over the past couple of weeks, and I’ve been fortunate enough to be in contact with a few people who got a chance to attend these events.  The only hitch?  Any talking about these events was embargoed until 8:00am Greenwich Mean Time.  That’s 3:00am Eastern and 12:00 midnight Pacific to us over here in the United States.

Now not only did the always awesome Russ Sheath and Dave Tree write up some very detailed and very extensive reports on these screenings, but Dave also stayed up until all hours of the UK night to talk to us on What’s on Joe Mind about what he saw!  He gets into full details, and lets us interrogate him in true What’s on Joe Mind fashion to get to the bottom of G.I. Joe: Retaliation as we come within two months of the film’s release.

Gary, being the consummate professional that he is, got the editing turned around in lightning fast time and we have a very Special Edition of the What’s on Joe Mind podcast in the can and ready to go!  Check it out as always on our Podbean page, or hit up the embedded player below.

Joe: Retaliation film, I have got a treat for you today.  Paramount did some footage screening for some very select individuals over the past week or two, and GeneralsJoes is lucky enough to have a few reports of that footage for you today!

A big friend of GeneralsJoes and the What’s on Joe Mind podcast Dave Tree from Roll Out Roll Call got to see this footage live and in person, and he did some fantastic work getting this intel dissected and reported to us.

So over the past year we’ve covered a lot of ground on the What’s on Joe Mind podcast.  We’ve talked comics with Larry Hama, we’ve talked Sunbow with Buzz Dixon and Flint Dille, and we’ve fully explored the world of G.I. Joe: Renegades with many of the voice cast members.  Heck, in episode 50, we even got an awesome congratulatory message from G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M Chu!

So with our one year anniversary episode coming up, we had to decide what we wanted to do…  what would the listeners want to hear?  The answer was easy…they want to hear… themselves!  That’s right, episode 52 will be a “call in show” where anyone using Skype is welcome to call into the show and shoot the breeze with the What’s on Joe Mind crew.  The details are below!
