Yes, the What’s on Joe Mind crew went radio silent for a little while, but now we’ve come roaring back, even if we are missing our trusty producer Gary.
While Gary continues to take a little bit of a break, we spent this issue talking customs with the awesome folks from the JoeCustoms Podcast. The episode ends up being a very informal kind of “chew the G.I. Joe fat” round table, where we ask some customizing questions, they ask us some questions, and we just hash it all out. We did take some time for news and mailbag questions, though!

It’s been a bit of a break since we posted our last episode, and it seems like the world of G.I. Joe has turned inside out and backwards since then. Excitement about Toy Fair blitzed the online community, only to be defused by the rumor that Hasbro will not be in attendance at JoeCon, and an underlying uncertainty about the future of our favorite brand. We also had a chat with none other than BJ Ward, the voice of Scarlett from the Sunbow animated series!
Well, to celebrate the sure fire collapse of all toy related patriotism, Gary took a strike from the show and is absent from Episode 90. Actually, Chuck is, too, but we figured that was more due to laziness.
However, Mike and Justin called in the reserves as Dave from Toy World Order and the immortal Erik Arana from Boss Fight Studio joined us on the program! Check out the latest episode on Podbean or embedded below, and hit up the Show Notes after the jump.
Quite awhile ago, we had the unique opportunity to interview a couple of the guys from the Hot Toys Podcast, and while it took us a little while to get this posted (apologies Jim and Eamon) with G.I. Joe: Retaliation Roadblock on the precipice of release, it seems apt to get this out there now.
Along with talking with those fine folks, we cover all of the G.I. Joe news and information, and even touch on the big “NO JOES in 2014″ topic that seems to be rearing it’s ugly head over the past week.

Yes, we know the episodes have been a little more sporadic lately, but hopefully this four hour marathon makes up for it. We spend a healthy two hours talking to resident toy expert Mark Bellomo about G.I. Joe and the toy industry in general, and complement that great interview with some looks at recent G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club announcements, plus a look back at 2013 and a look ahead to next year.

Welcome to another exciting installment of What’s on Joe Mind! It’s tough to believe we’ve gone through 87 regular episodes (not to mention almost 40 special editions) but here we are.
We talk to the fine folks from Cobra’s 1st Legion Cosplay group, get to some good old fashioned G.I. Joe news and go through our favorite figures and vehicles from 1987. Check out our Podbean page or hit the embedded player below. Show notes, as always, are after the jump.
Yes, it’s been a while since the guys from What’s on Joe Mind got an episode out, but trust me, this one was worth waiting for.
We bring on several industry experts all crammed into one three hour marathon of G.I. Joe goodness. Andrew, Erik, Trina, and Dave from Boss Fight Studios lend their expertise to the episode as well as David Lane from the G.I. Joe Collectors Club. This is an episode you do not want to miss.
The G.I. Joe news front has been somewhat quiet in recent weeks, so some of the parts of Episode 85 of the What’s on Joe Mind podcast dip back in time just a little bit. But then again some of the discussion here is timeless. We speak to former Hasbro designer Rick Schad who gives us some great insight into his time on G.I. Joe, and of course, with it being episode 85, we pick our favorite figures and vehicles from 1985! Vintage love for you.

It feels like it’s been forever, probably because…well, it’s been forever, but the latest episode of the What’s on Joe Mind podcast is officially online! Nearly three hours devoted to some great G.I. Joe discussion with a healthy injection of Kre-O/Lego love from Brickarms, and some great Marvel SDCC talk with our old buddy Arune.
As always check out the episode on our Podbean Page, or it is also embedded below. Click the “Read More” link for the Show Notes.
OH MY GAWD! THA UMBRAGE! That’s right, Joe fans, producer and editor Gary put in some extra hours at the editing desk this week and was able to get out two episodes in one week. It’s almost like convention season.
In truth, a big reason why we wanted to get this episode is out is that we speak with Frank Patz, who is hosting EternalCon in Long Island this weekend. We wanted to get the word out there quick as this sounds like a great show featuring lots of toys, activities, and a special IMax screening of Operation Red Retrieval by big friend of the program Mark Cheng. But wait, that’s not all! On the heels of the dramatic ComicCon Exclusive reveals last week, we went right to the source and brought on USA Today Geek Pride correspondent (that should be his actual title) Brian Truitt. We break down exactly how these ComicCon exclusives get revealed and talk lots of good G.I. Joe talk. As always, check out the latest episode on Podbean, or the embedded players below. Show Notes are after the jump.
Just to show what kind of whirlwind the past month has been, I somehow neglected to post that Episode 79 of What’s on Joe Mind was released! Featuring the impressive vocal talents of the immortal Brian Cummings, we talk about his role as Dr. Mindbender in the Sunbow series, and have a lengthy discussion about codpieces.
But that’s not all! We also bring our good Marvel buddy Arune Singh on to talk about Iron Man 3, C2E2 and get prepared for the upcoming ComicCon. Check out this latest episode on our Podbean page, or the embedded players below. As always, Show Notes are after the jump.
