The time has come… add Destro to your 12″ Sideshow Cobra ranks!

Ever since I first saw him, I immediately knew I need to own this one.  Even as I saw complaints emerge from throughout the G.I. Joe fandom, this was one key Sideshow Collectibles figure that I had been waiting for…and in my opinion they NAILED it.

Plenty of the great classic elements of the Destro character we all know and love, but with enough of an added Sideshow twist to really bring the character to life in this great Sideshow “universe” they have built.  I love both unique head sculpt, I love that he has a trenchcoat or the familiar leather jacket.  I love, love, LOVE the gauntlets.  This is an awesome offering from Sideshow Collectibles and it is ON SALE NOW.

Check out to pick up your 12″ Destro and add him to your Cobra ranks.  You will not regret it!

And hey, while you’re at it, pick up the bad ass Cobra Display Stand that Sideshow just posted, too.  That’s pretty sweet stuff right there and only $14.99!

Sideshow Collectibles showcases upcoming Destro 12″ figure!

I feel like I’m in the minority here, but I am really in love with the upcoming Sideshow Destro.  I’ve always loved the trenchcoat look, and Sideshow Collectibles added just enough modern elements while keeping the right classic elements (wrist rockets FTW!) to give us a terrific update to the Cobra Weapons Supplier.

Sideshow has posted a great preview of the upcoming figure, including a shot of an awesome leather jacket version of the figure, which might make fans longing for a more classic representation more happy.

Check out the preview right here, and stay tuned for Thursday, when the pre-order goes live!

Pre-Order for Sideshow Collectibles 12″ Storm Shadow is LIVE!

Every single image of this figure makes me love it even more…  a terrific ’88 style update to the venerable Cobra Ninja Storm Shadow, and I have to admit, worlds better than what we saw with the first Storm Shadow release.

I’m really digging the modern look at this character, and the fact that even though Sideshow went with the aesthetic of Storm Shadow on the G.I. Joe team, but keeps him affiliated with Cobra.

Check out the Pre-Order at the links below.

The Sideshow Exclusive version of the Storm Shadow Sixth Scale Figure will also include a cobra head katana accessory (above left). Wherever his allegiance lies, Storm Shadow is always ready to strike!

The regular and Exclusive versions of Storm Shadow Sixth Scale Figure will be priced at $179.99.

The Exclusive version of the Storm Shadow Sixth Scale Figure to be available for pre-order in our upcoming weekly Sideshow Newsletter this Thursday, August 15th, 2013, typically published between 2 and 3pm (PST). Don’t let this ninja sneak past you!

GeneralsJoes Reviews Hot Toys G.I. Joe: Retaliation Storm Shadow

I got my first introduction to the marvelous world of Hot Toys a few short weeks ago when I reviewed G.I. Joe: Retaliation Snake Eyes, and was pretty much blown away.  So now that I have experience with this company, would the second figure have as much impact as the first?

Short answer?  Definitely.

Long answer?  Check out my Sideshow Collectibles Review Section, or the direct link below.

Sideshow Collectibles keeps G.I. Joe news rocking with Storm Shadow reveal

I…  I don’t quite know what to say.

Except maybe “wow”.

Sideshow Collectibles has had some mixed results for the fandom, with some absolute home runs (Zartan, Rock n Roll, Cobra Commander, and the Baroness) and some that folks weren’t too sure about (Firefly, Cobra Viper, Crimson Guard).  But it seems to me that they are stepping up their “A” game with recent releases.

First Destro was unveiled last week and looks pretty darn great.  Then The Baroness pre-order went live and she rocks as well.  Now we’ve got Storm Shadow.  And boy do we have Storm Shadow…  it’s interesting, because he is clearly wearing the deco from his time with the G.I. Joe team, yet he seems to be advertised as a Cobra.  Either way is cool with me, as the figure just flat out looks awesome.

Check out the preview right here, and I’ve also mirrored the image below.  Nice stuff.

Sideshow Collectibles 12″ Baroness is up for Pre-Order now!

Well isn’t this a nice Wednesday afternoon surprise?  After quick reveals of Destro and Storm Shadow, Sideshow Collectibles continues the G.I. Joe love with the live pre-order for the upcoming 12″ Cobra Villainous, The Baroness.  Easily one of the most recognized characters in G.I. Joe (not to mention pop culture) mythology, the Baroness will compliment your other Sideshow offerings quite nicely.

Sideshow Collectibles to be releasing updated 12″ Storm Shadow?

Lost in the shuffle of the past two very busy news days in the G.I. Joe world, Sideshow Collectibles Tweeted yesterday in regards to some reveals that we might see at ComicCon this coming weekend. At first glance, nothing special from a G.I. Joe perspective, but eagle-eyed Sideshow fan Mysterious Stranger saw a little snippet of something in the upper left hand corner.

He had a little exchange back and forth with the Sideshow Twitter person, and turns out we might have just gotten a tiny sneak peek at an upcoming updated version of Storm Shadow. Based on the weapon posted in that little snippet as well, could this Storm Shadow be an homage to his 1988 G.I. Joe persona?

Curiouser and curiouser… we’ll be watching SDCC this weekend a little closer now. Check out the upper left corner of the image below.
