Tough to say. Marlon Wayans is a professional comedian, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he ad-libbed an interview here or there to get some people to notice, but hey, I still think this bears watching.
Member of the Terror Drome forums Roadblock Recall apparently heard an interview with the Wayans Brothers on local radio today promoting a comedy show, and Marlon was asked about the G.I. Joe series. His answer may surprise you, and to avoid spoilers you’ll have to click the “Read the Rest of this Story” link below for the details.
The G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA cast has been making the rounds in a big way over the past few days, and there are a few clips online with various interviews and tv appearences. I will, by no means, be catching them all, but here are a few interesting tidbits:
The many military veterans and family members who were eagerly anticipating a special premier for G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA at Andrews Air Force Base got even more than they bargained for as cast members Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, and Marlon Wayans all made surprise appearences.
Entertainment Tonight spent some time with cast members Marlon Wayans, Channing Tatum, Rachel Nichols, and Sienna Miller, and captured the event on video. About five minutes along, it has some neat interactions between the cast members and little tidbits of information scattered throughout. They talk about their favorite weapons, crack jokes, and add a little insight as well. You can click here to see it, or just check out the embedded video below.
Marlon Wayans spoke briefly with Hollywood Outbreak on the upcoming G.I. Joe: Rise of COBRA film. Nothing revolutionary, and the typical hype machine rolling, but an interesting 30 second clip regardless. Read the original article here, or listen to the clip below.
So far Marlon Wayans has been surprisingly silent about his role as “Ripcord” in the upcoming G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA motion picture, being released August 7th of this year. Well, he breaks his silence with MTV.com and lets the fans know what they should expect from the film.
“The movie is serious, action and some comedy – but not all comedy,” insisted the star, who will bring an extremely different look to the High Altitude Low Opening jumper in the August 7th flick. “You pull off the reigns; I did what was appropriate for the role and for the character.”
“It wasn’t about ‘Hey, let it be the me comedy show’,” promised Wayans. “It is G.I. Joe. It’s supposed to be badass action. So you commit to it – and I found the fun in being a badass, for once in my life.”
There’s plenty of other interesting tidbits over at MTV.com so check out the article here.
