Okay, I’m a little behind the 8 ball on this one, but I should get all caught up this week. It took me a little while to get my hands on the second wave of 50th Anniversary figures, then there were the Holidays and job changes, and all sorts of crap you don’t care about… but we’re past that now. :)
For now, enjoy the reviews for the 50th Anniversary “Social Clash” (good grief I hate that name) 2-Pack with the links below or via the 50th Anniversary Review page. The “Arctic Assault” pack is coming soon, too!
As one might expect, it looks like Lady Jaye will be back for another round in the sequel to the 2013 smash hit G.I. Joe: Retaliation. It’s a bit curious because I cannot find a precise quote where she states this, but IGN.com posted an interview with the actress, and in the interview, the following reference is made:
“And that very well may be. Palicki’s turn as Lady Jaye in the successful G.I. Joe: Retaliation — she says she’ll be back for G.I. Joe 3 by the way — and her ability to handle stunt work means that she frequently gets scripts for similar films.”
Having just watched the G.I. Joe: Retaliation film again last night, I’m looking forward to the return, and hope that DJ Catrona’s Flint joins her as well. I think The Rock and Ray Park are safe bets, too. Pretty cool to start hearing things come together already. Again, check out IGN for the full run down.
Make sure to keep watching for all the latest and greatest G.I. Joe movie news!
I feel very sad and disappointed that I didn’t get this review done more quickly, as this was an amazing issue of A Real American Hero. This was pure Hama greatness, almost as if pulled from the 80’s, with some great hints of Special Missions tossed in for good measure. This isn’t a “feel good” story of G.I. Joe, it’s wrought with many of the same government tensions and political frustrations as you may have witnessed with the old Special Missions series, yet it’s not obvious, it’s just a part of the story.
Every day that a new Real American Hero issue is released is a day that I’m one happy G.I. Joe fan. Check out the full review after the jump.
Larry Hama has always established that G.I. Joe isn’t necessarily about war, action, ninjas, or gun battle…at its core, it is about the characters. It is the personality of the characters that keeps them alive and keeps them viable throughout the years.
I would maintain that this remains true in Hollywood as well, and that the translation of these characters into film is equally important for the movie to remain timeless. After all, we don’t all remember the fantastic Aliens movie because of the gun fights, right? We remember it because of characters like Hicks, Ripley, and Hudson. THEY are what made that film, not splattering acid blood all over the place.
So now that things are starting to take shape around G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which characters am I most looking forward to seeing in action? Let’s break it down after the jump:
The hits just keep on coming… these aren’t TV Spots or trailers, they look to be Celebs.com interviews with the G.I. Joe: Retaliation stars, including everyone from Ray Stevenson to Elodie Yung, Dwayne Johnson, DJ Cotrona, and Adrianne Palicki.
There doesn’t appear to be much new actual film footage in these interviews, but the interviews themselves are still very enlightening, but keep in mind some movie spoilers might be contained. Click the Read the Rest of the Story link below to check them all out. Thanks to Skinny from SerpentorsLair.org for the keen eye.
Another character vignette has made its way online, courtesy of what appears to be a foreign YouTube channel. It’s a great minute long look at the Lady Jaye character with some great new footage featuring Lady Jaye herself and our first really good look at Agent Mouse!
Check it out embedded below. Thanks to Skinny from SerpentorsLair for the info.
Lady Jaye, Roadblock, and Snake Eyes oh my! MSN Movies has revealed three exclusive images from G.I. Joe: Retaliation featuring a trio of our favorite G.I. Joe operatives. Check out these latest images on MSN Movies, or mirrored below.
These interviews aren’t normally the most exciting thing to look forward to for an upcoming film, but when they actually reveal some new footage, that’s a different story! UIPThailand has posted two video interviews up on YouTube, and there is actually some cool new footage mixed in amongst the questions and answers. We see some behind the scenes stuff and more!
Okay, these featurettes have been flying hot and heavy over the past few days, so let’s catch a breath and get them all gathered up in one place shall we?
We’ve had “behind the scenes” we’ve had TV spots, and we’ve had the great 20 second character profiles. All of them, when assembled, make for some very cool pre-film hype. I can tell you, I’m flipping out over here right now. Lots of great footage, I can’t even believe we’re almost within 2 weeks of this thing.
Click the “Read the Rest of the Story” link below to get a nice, well-organized rundown of all of the character profiles that have aired so far:
Okay, my mind is officially blown. Is it March 29th yet?!?
These character profiles are only 20 seconds long each, and they are KILLER. Action-packed with new footage, gunplay, and what looks like some serious parkour action. Wow. Very quick cuts, but a lot of gunfight awesomeness packed into 60 seconds worth of footage here. Check out the three character profiles for Duke, Flint, and Lady Jaye below, or at the Paramount International YouTube channel.
