IDW Solicitations for G.I. Joe titles – August, 2015

Still no real news on the next evolution of G.I. Joe at IDW, as we cruise through another month of Real American Hero and Transformers vs. G.I. Joe. Not that I’m complaining, Real American Hero continues to excite, even as it stumbled just a bit through Snake Eyes’ ultimate sacrifice.

Looks like that story continues full steam ahead with issue #217 coming in August.

IDW G.I. Joe Solicitations for June, 2015

Well, this is a surprisingly short list.

I think we all knew that Snake Eyes: Agent of Cobra and Transformers and G.I. Joe were both limited series, but this still seems like an abbreviated month for IDW G.I. Joe comics.

As of this point, the only G.I. Joe comic slated for release in June is G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #215.

That’s it.

Is this another momentary break, or a sign of some longer lasting gap for G.I. Joe at local comic shops?  Let’s see what we can find out…  until then, check out the solicitation for Real American Hero #215 below.

Antonio Fuso reveals variant cover for G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #214

The May solicitations from IDW Publishing were released a while ago, and while we saw the main cover for A Real American Hero #214, any variant covers were omitted. Well, thanks to Antonio Fuso’s Twitter account, we can now get a look at one of those other variant covers.

Fuso is best known as the artist for the critically acclaimed Cobra and Cobra Files title from IDW Publishing, and I find it fascinating to see his take on the mainstream characters of Snake Eyes and Scarlett.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #214 arrives in May, and features a potentially landscape-altering event in G.I. Joe history. Don’t miss it, and check out the variant cover below.

IDW Transformers Humble Bundle is a fantastic deal and helps kids to boot

One of the reasons why my site has evolved a bit over the past few days is that my attachment to brands outside the
narrow scope of G.I. Joe has increased substantially with the new Transformers: Combiner Wars line from Hasbro as well
as Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Classics, but it’s not just the toys that are drawing me in, it’s the universes.

This is especially true of IDW Publishing’s Transformers. Between More Than Meets the Eye and Transformers (formerly  Robots In Disguise) IDW is doing some amazing things on paper with the Transformers characters, but even more important,  in my view, is how synergistic Hasbro is operating in line with those comics. It’s nearly unparalleled. I’ve already discussed how the Combiner Wars Wave 2 tech spec bio’s are written in character with Rung and Soundwave, and now IDW is on the verge of unleashing their Combiner Wars comic nearly right in line with the toy series release. It’s impressive.

But it’s taken some folks a while to catch on to this, so many folks are a bit out of the loop in how great IDW has been with these books.

Well, here’s your chance to get caught up. The IDW Publishing Transformers “Humble Bundle” offers a metric ton of Transformers comics for a name-your-price deal that not only will get you caught up with Transformers, but also shoots money to Hasbro’s Children’s Hospital as well. It’s a fantastic way to get a lot of comics for not a lot of cash, and also help sick kids. How can you possibly go wrong?

Check out the full details of the Humble Bundle, and snap it up…you will be very glad you did.
