JoeDeClassified exploding with in hand images of Wave 3.5

That’s right, G.I. Joe fans, G.I. Joe: Retaliation Wave 3.5 (AKA the SUPAH WAVE) is right around the corner, and some folks have already scored figures from the assortment. The pre-production master Glumby as accumulated a nice assortment of early sample figures and posted some images over on

First early looks are of the Crimson Guard as well as Budo and Cobra Commander. Many of these images show these figures in never-seen before in hand formats, including Cobra Commander with his hood and a great look at his FANG helicopter themed backpack.

Huge thanks to Glumby for getting these images out there. Check out JoeDeClassified here and here, and I’ve also mirrored some of the images below.

Sideshow Collectibles unleashes another Battle Helmet Cobra Commander preview

Ohh buddy.  Now personally, I loved the first Sideshow Collectibles Cobra Commander.  The hood and the trenchcoat kind of set the stage for what they were going for with some slightly modernized interpretations of the classic G.I. Joe mythology.  But a lot of folks out there lamented the fact that we were without a proper Battle Helmet Cobra Commander.

Looks like Sideshow is definitely out to correct that oversight.  We’ve seen little hints and clues that this figure was on the horizon, but today via the official Sideshow Twitter account it was confirmed that there is a new 12″ Battle Helmet Cobra Commander on the horizon, and we got a nifty little image as well.  Keep following Sideshow on Twitter and Sideshow on Instagram for the latest G.I. Joe and Sideshow Collectibles intel, and see this new preview below.

Thanks to almostahermit and chadlawless on Twitter for the intel!

GeneralsJoes Reviews discount store “running change” Cobra Commander

First of all, a big thanks to Chief over at for the Cobra Commander hook up!  I was running towards the end of this daily review trend leading up to G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and this figure arrived just in the nick of time!  Then my hands were so jittery from the excitement of seeing G.I. Joe: Retaliation tonight I could barely type.

Oh, the humanity!

Regardless, the review is done and posted in the 30th Anniversary section, or you can hit the direct link below.  Thus wraps up my Discount Store “Running Change” versions of these figures.  NEXT!

Characters I’m most looking forward to seeing in G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Larry Hama has always established that G.I. Joe isn’t necessarily about war, action, ninjas, or gun battle…at its core, it is about the characters.  It is the personality of the characters that keeps them alive and keeps them viable throughout the years.

I would maintain that this remains true in Hollywood as well, and that the translation of these characters into film is equally important for the movie to remain timeless.  After all, we don’t all remember the fantastic Aliens movie because of the gun fights, right?  We remember it because of characters like Hicks, Ripley, and Hudson.  THEY are what made that film, not splattering acid blood all over the place.

So now that things are starting to take shape around G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which characters am I most looking forward to seeing in action?  Let’s break it down after the jump:

GeneralsJoes reviews G.I. Joe Kre-O Battle Platform and Thunderwave Jet Boat

The two largest G.I. Joe Kre-O sets from the first series caused some mixed reactions with me…some very positive, but some not so much.  You’ll have to check out the reviews to see which was which.  G.I. Only we can help Cobra Commander rebuild Cobra Island

Now, come on… if Veronica Mars can take in $47 million dollars or some ridiculous amount like that, certainly Cobra Commander can get some love from the people of the World?

That’s right, after G.I. Joe’s latest operation destroyed Cobra Island, Cobra Commander is taking a different approach to rebuilding.  No more pyramid schemes….no more ransom demands with weather control devices.  This is straight up crowd-funding.

Cobra Commander has gone to Kickstarter.

I dunno… I think I’m in for about 90 grand.  How about you?  Thanks to Kevin for the heads up!

Two weeks, yes TWO WEEKS until G.I. Joe: Retaliation! Reason #14 it will be great!

It seems like just yesterday we were starting at the number “40” and counting down the reasons to see G.I. Joe: Retaliation when it hits theaters… and now here we are, with only two very short weeks left to go.  Amazing.  Twitziller goes in a very blunt and clear direction this time around.  As he has been doing every Friday, today is all about a particular character:

You’ll notice there is no fancy title and no thorough description of a reason for this choice.  Do you want to know why?

Cobra $%#$! Commander, that’s why.

Keep following Twitziller on Twitter for the latest updates, and keep it here on GeneralsJoes as well.  Previous entries can be seen below!
