Cerisier

She’s en elf of many names…  initially revealed at the New Jersey Collectors Convention, Cerisier was a very pleasant surprise.  She had not appeared on any input drawings or concepts before her reveal, and many folks were a bit confused by where she fit in.

10-cerisier

Technically not a part of wave 3 she also had been identified by several separate names (Sakura Elvish Assassin and Cherry Blossom Elf among others) and folks were a bit unsure of her place.

Well,  Boss Fight Studio gave us all a pleasant surprise, revealing that she was a BossFightShop.com exclusive and she is available for sale RIGHT NOW.

11-cerisier

As many folks have gotten used to, Cerisier is another excellent release from Boss Fight.  Using the familiar female body style with an updated head (it almost looks like Lacuna’s head with a different hairpiece) this Elf has long, pointed ears and a sleek appearance giving more credence to her role as a deadly assassin.  With gray skin (colored by dark ink to blend in to the shadows) and a fantastic combination of pale colors on the secondaries, she manages to look dark and stealthy and colorful and vibrant both at the same time.  The folks at Boss Fight have a true sense of artistry with these figures, knowing just how to combine the right colors, enhancing the figure.  So many toys these days have colors for the sake of having colors, without those color schemes really making sense.  The Vitruvian HACKS series has a clear template and purpose for each color they choose, and the end result is a far more aesthetically pleasing end product.

Cerisier uses the same secondaries as Aiyana the Autumn Elf, but with these different colors, comes across as a much different looking character, and one that I really enjoy.  It  goes without saying that the articulation on the H.A.C.K. part system only further accentuate the greatness of this figure, as she feels exceptionally well constructed, yet has been remarkably easy to swamp around.  The female body style that Boss Fight uses is the best in the business and every time I get a new figure of theirs it’s a true highlight.

Accessories

One nice thing about Cerisier is that she actually comes with some new gear.  By the looks of it, it’s gear that will be repurposed for Narissa in Wave 2, but hitting first with Cerisier gives us a nice glimpse at some items still to come.  The crossbow, hip quiver, and three crossbow bolts are all really great accessories and allow this Elvish assassin some mobility as she moves about the darkness, hunting down her targets.  She also comes complete with a pair of the same knives that Aiyana initially came with as well.

07-cerisier-equipped

Cerisier was a surprise addition to the Vitruvian HACKS universe, but has been a very welcome one.  The spectacular construction, functional accessories (she can actually hold her crossbow realistically!) and excellent new paint scheme all come together to give us another really great, really fun Vitruvian HACKS product.

Awesome reveal for Vitruvian HACKS Lord Vehemous on Infinite Earths

At New Jersey Collectors Con this year we got a little peek at the upcoming Wave 3 Lord Vehemous from the Vitruvian HACKS fantasy collection.  Now, we have a little more (awesome) backstory courtesy of Infinite Earths, who Boss Fight allowed to reveal the package art and temporal log.

BossFight-Vitruvian-HACKS-Lord-Vehemous

The package art is by James Griffiths and looks absolutely  amazing.  I love the influence of the purple energy throughout, signs of some disturbance of the timeline by the looks of it.

Even cooler is his backstory:

Lord Vehemous

Dragon Cult War Priest Self-proclaimed leader of a sect which worships dragons as avatars of the gods. Vehemous found a tome that grants him the ability to control these mighty beasts. Using this power, he has amassed a substantial number of followers, each of whom have been granted supernatural powers by the liberal imbibing of dragon blood. The blood has addictive properties and causes physical deformities but dragon cult members do not care. The telepathic powers, immunity to disease and tolerance to pain they gain are worth it.

Temporal Log: Vehemous has lately begun to preach that a magical item exists in the blasted lands that will allow his followers to take the next step and become dragons themselves. It appears legends of Stheno’s staff have reached his ears. Will he do the unthinkable and resurrect the long absent Gorgon horde if he finds it?

Definitely take a run over to Infinite Earths to see the full reveal and this looks like another awesome Vitruvian HACKS character I’ll want to get my hands on.

Boss Fight Studio announces new Vitruvian BASIC line!

When Boss Fight revealed the first look at their upcoming Skeleton Warrior, they included a little clue with their images, with what looked to be an official store image of the Skeleton labeled “Basic”.  That started the rumor mill churning a bit, and today that rumor mill has been confirmed.

Boss Fight Studio revealed the first three figures in their new “Vitruvian BASIC” series today, a (hopefully) ongoing line of reduced paint apps and reduced accessory figures at a reduced price.  Retailing at just 19.99 these three figures will be available for pre-order as of October 22nd at BossFightShop.com!

This is exciting news for army builders as these three figures have a great army building look and feel, and will also provide a less expensive alternative to potential custom material from Series 2.  Check out the figures below, and make sure your trigger finger is hovering on October 22nd for these first three figures, then again on October 31st for the VERY limited release of the Skeleton!

Boss Fight Studio announces new figure and potential new product line?

Some exciting and unexpected news from our friends at Boss Fight Studio today as they announced a new “Evil Skeleton” action figure that will be sold on BossFightShop.com as of October 31st!

It’s a nicely weathered skeleton with some terrific accessories, but even more interesting is one of the images that goes along with the info (posted exclusively on Infinite Earth).

If you check out the product photo you’ll see the Evil Skeleton is labeled as a “HACKS Basic” figure.  Could this be the start of a new product line of figures with fewer accessories and dialed down deco?  More news to come on this front, I’m sure, but for now, check out the great images of the upcoming Evil Skeleton below.

Limited to just a few hundred, the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Evil Skeleton has all the same great features and functions that fans loved about the original, but will be available for just $19.99.

So, whether you’re looking to recreate the classic Skeleton Dance, or unleash an army of Skeleton Warriors that would make Todd Armstrong nervous, the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Evil Skeleton is sure to be right up your alley!

Look for it to arrive on the Boss Fight Studio web store beginning October 31st.

No Bones About It!

Boss Fight Studio new product alert!

Happy Thursday!

Boss Fight Studio is surprising us all with an unexpected launch of their Boss Fight webstore exclusive Cerisier a Sakura Elvish Assassin!  This figure was first revealed at New Jersey Collectors Convention, but it was unknown what assortment she might appear in.

Surprise!  You can buy her TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT for immediate shipping from BossFightShop.com.

New Vitruvian HACKS automatically makes the world feel like a better place.

Speaking of new Vitruvian HACKS, Boss Fight also reports that their Accessory Mini-Kits are in stock and will start shipping tomorrow.  Ain’t life great?

10-Mini-Kits

“Guardians of the elven queen, members of this elite corps of archers bathe daily in dark ink, to maintain the gray color of their skin. Taking their orders directly from Queen Solan, they are her protectors and personal assassins. As a part of their duties to the queen, they take on an oath of silence. Their voices are removed permanently and irreversibly, using a magical spell. Their eyes have been altered so that they can see in pitch blackness. Moving undetectably and noiselessly, their natural home is in the dark. The last thing many an enemy of the Elves has felt is the cold blade of a Sakura Elf, silently draining their life away.”

Marauder “Gun Runners” Exo Suit, K-9, Contract Ops Kickstarter is LIVE

I’m unreasonably excited about this, mostly due to the bad ass design aesthetics of the Exo-Suit.

With the posters and concept art shown off at NJCC, MJ had said to expect the Kickstarter soon, and soon means NOW.  Featuring the introduction of the K-9, the Exo-Suit and the Contract Ops Marauder Task Force figure, this Kickstarter also introduces a ton of new, exciting colors to your existing Task Force and Valkyries squads.

Personally, I’m all about this Exo-Suit.  With a ton of customizable parts there looks to be an infinite number of combinations not just for suit pieces, but also for different elements of the suit to connect directly to the figures themselves.  Truly awesome looking stuff from Marauder and the design wizards at Boss Fight Studio.

As of this writing, the Kickstarter stands at $26,000 and I expect it to blast through funding quickly before moving on to some stretch goals, so let’s get this cranking!  Daddy needs a camouflage Exo-Suit!

Vitruvian HACKS Fantasy Wave 4 slideshow details from NJCC

I can’t believe it’s been over a week already since the New Jersey Collectors Con, and what a busy week it’s been.  The NJCC Exclusive Blasted Land Orc has hit eBay a few separate times (and is selling through like crazy) and Boss Fight has gotten all caught up on pre-orders, so Series 2 Wave 1 items are IN STOCK and ready for immediate shipping!

  1. Knight of Accord
  2. Orc Conqueror
  3. Aiyana
  4. Lacuna

Not only that, but I’ve got a great exclusive look at some of the slides from the Boss Fight Studio panel at NJCC, including the first look at an upcoming Gargoyle figure from Wave 4.  These are great, high-res images that provide an awesome sneak peek at input art for Wave 4 as well as the reveals for the Series 3 Space theme.

Huge thanks to Trina and the people at Boss Fight for allowing me to share these images.  Enjoy and make sure you run straight to BossFightShop.com to grab Wave 1 of the Fantasy figures in stock and ready to ship.

Boss Fight Studio Vitruvian HACKS Blasted Land Orc

01-blasted-orc-front 02-blasted-orc-back

Right alongside the release of Wave 1 of the Fantasy series we already have our first convention exclusive, this one for the New Jersey Collectors Convention which occurred the weekend of August 11th – 12th in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  Branded as a Boss Fight weekend celebration of sorts (also celebrating the release of Series 2), this year’s fall NJCC was a great time and offered a fantastic addition to the Fantasy series.

29-blasted-land-orc

The Orc Conqueror is already a great figure, and this NJCC exclusive adds some intriguing twists.  With a very deep red skin, darker brown secondaries and a bronze/gold trim instead of silver/gray.  The result is a figure that is considerably different in appearance, yet maintaining all the cool features of the standard Orc Conqueror.

27-blasted-land-orc

Inhabiting the “blasted land” this variation of Orcs are even meaner and less hospitable than their more standard green-skinned cousins.  Just in their darker paint scheme, these figures look more sinister, and I really love the deep color of their skin complimented by the gold trim of the armor and other additions.

33-blasted-land-orc

The Blasted Land Orc has the two different heads, two different helmets, and two different face plates just like the conqueror, plus all of the fantastic accessories that the standard release comes equipped with as well.

Accessories

But wait there’s more!  In addition to the standard hammer head that comes with the Orc Conqueror, we get a look into the customizing possibilities of these weapons with a spiked mace end that can replace the hammer and create a whole different weapon.  I’d have to think there is more where this came from down the line, but it’s great to get an early introduction to it here.

20-blasted-land-orc

Along with the spiked made, the Blasted Land Orc has a gorgeous sword, a dark blade carved from volcanic rock that is shined to a nice polish more resembling pure obsidian.  The look of the dark gleam of the blade is really unique and really awesome.

05

All of the same great gear as the Orc Conqueror, but in a deeper color scheme with some really awesome complimenting of the dark red skin of the Orc.  This is one heck of a great addition to your already growing Orc army and with an intriguing backstory makes for a fantastic NJCC exclusive.  Here’s hoping there are more surprise exclusives in store down the road.
