We were one of the sites last week to break the news that Sideshow Collectibles was on the verge of announcing the pre-order for a new version of the venerable G.I. Joe commando ninja Snake Eyes! Well, the figure will be up for pre-order on March 15th (that’s Thursday), and Sideshow has posted the full gallery today!
This figure carries a hefty price tag, but comes with a ton of accessories as well as a fully articulated Timber. That’s right… Fully. Articulated. Timber.
Hell, the Sideshow Exclusive even has a swappable portrait for the wolf. Impressive, most impressive!
I’ve mirrored just a few images below, but the full blown gallery can be seen at Sideshow Collectibles, and keep your eyes peeled here on GeneralsJoes for when the pre-order goes live!

And wow, is it a beauty.
Taking a page from Hasbro’s handbook, Sideshow is riding the coat tails of G.I. Joe’s most popular character, the enigmatic Ninja commando Snake Eyes…but also like Hasbro, they’re doing such a great job giving him updated looks that even the most disparaging fan can’t help but be at least a little impressed.
Featuring his classic look and an awesome Commando aesthetic, this quick peek at G.I. Joe’s most infamous member already has my mouth drooling. Plus he comes with Timber! Sideshow announces a more in depth look at the Production Blog on March 13th, with pre-orders launching next Thursday, March 15th.
Get your keyboards ready, this one could be a hot one. Check out the sneak peek right here, or simply the mirrored image below.

While not approaching the level of posability of the 12″ figures that we all love so much, you can’t deny the fantastic display possibilities of these premium format figures. Cobra Commander looked absolutely amazing, and The Baroness is looking just as impressive.
We know by now that Sideshow is planning to release a 12″ Baroness in late 2012, but here’s a really nice looking premium format figure to hold you over until then. Click here to pre-order.

Big thanks to Rich from ARealAmericanHero.com for spotting an interview between Cool Toy Review and Sideshow Collectibles who talked quite a bit about Sideshow’s G.I. Joe releases. Chief among the revelations was that Sideshow is currently working on a new female body, with the initial plans to be for a 12″ Baroness figure!
The exact text is below:
“DMM The DC Universe has a varying range of characters from adult male and female, to teens, and scrawny adults. Are you prepared to move past the iconic male figure?
BB Hopefully so, yeah. We’ve got a new female body in the early production phases. We’re working through test shots and things. We’ll be debuting it this year in the G.I. Joe line, as Baroness. That’ll be in the mid part of 2012, and then superhero, super villain gals will follow after that. Our new beefier male body is quite different from our Prometheus and trooper male bodies.
DMM Have we seen parts of this new body in Rock ‘N Roll or even Duke?
BB No. While the proportions may be similar, this new body will be unique. “
So they plan on revealing the Baroness in mid 2012 for potential release later in the year. Very cool news. They talk a bit further about G.I. Joe as well, confirming that the Crimson Guard head was influenced by “Fred” and that their design for the Cobra Viper was influenced by what Cobra did in the 4″ line for Pursuit of Cobra/30th Anniversary.
All in all, it’s a fascinating read, and you should check it out right here.

As usual, I owe Mysterious Stranger a big thanks (and a beer in New Orleans if he’s there)… Chris is always right on top of the latest Sideshow Collectibles items in a way I only wish I could be, and he donates his time and effort into getting these reviews done for GeneralsJoes.
Next up in line is an excellent review of the 12″ General Hawk!
Check out his great review and images right here. Thanks again, Chris, you rock!

Sideshow Collectibles has been giving us their “Ask Sideshow” Q & A’s for a while now, but it appears they’ve moved their operations to Facebook. In a post put up on Saturday, Sideshow reflects on an interesting G.I. Joe related question and an equally interesting answer:
“Question: When can we expect to see Great Joes like Snow Job, Mutt w/Junkyard,and Gung-Ho?
Answer: Of the Joes that we would like to tackle next, you’ve named two of our favorite four. Shipwreck is missing from your list, but who has the other slot? Hmmm…“
So it certainly sounds like Shipwreck is on deck, and likely one other of the three above figures listed. Any thoughts or opinions? Check out the Sideshow Collectibles Facebook page and hit ‘em up with a “Like” to stay up to date on all Sideshow news and info.

Yes, you read correctly…in my mind, this is one of the best Sideshow Collectibles figures that has been produced…how do they possibly still have some in stock?!
I don’t know, but if you’re on the fence, you may want to pick it up while you can and avoid the Wait List. Click the banner below to add to your 12″ army!

While you’re at it, the 12″ General Hawk figure is also still available and in stock now! Hit up the banner below to grab that one.

These figures have been selling out fast, I’m amazed that these two (which are both very cool looking figures) are still in stock! Jump on them while you have the chance. While you’re at it, think about the woodland Ninja Viper figure as well. Originally an SDCC Exclusive, you can pick this up right now directly from the Sideshow Collectibles store.

This concludes the pimp post of the day.

Good grief this thing is spectacular.
Granted, as I’ve said before, I prefer my figures to actually move, but it’s tough to argue at the sheer coolness of the display value with this particular figure. Part statue, part figure, and full of imposing awesomeness.
I love that the images they added also include a shot of him with the upcoming premium format Baroness as well. These would make for one cool display.
Check out the additional images right here and if you love this thing like I do, pre-order him via the banner below.

Is it Storm Shadow? A red ninja? I’m not entirely sure, but Sideshow Collectibles revealed it as part of their 12 Days of Christmas program, going on right now.
The uniform is obviously Storm Shadow’s from his 1984 days, but with the hood, it’s tough to tell if that is who this is, just with some artistic license. Regardless, the statue looks pretty impressive.
