Paul Bettany’s role as Vision in the new Avengers: Age of Ultron movie was a thing of beauty, evoking just the right mixture of compassion and bad-assery, and now you can own the Vision in 12″ form.
Hot Toys revealed the first images this morning, and now Sideshow Collectibles has him up for pre-order, and I have to say, as one expects these days from Hot Toys, he looks spectacular. Look, he even comes with his own mini-Mjolnir!
Check out the pre-order right here, and take a peek at the images below.
While this particular entry into the Age of Ultron toy collection isn’t something I’m tempted to pick up, I can’t argue with the craftsmanship here. The sculpting on the various cybernetic parts, as well as the exposed machinery and wiring? Pretty astounding looking stuff.
Hot Toys has released the official images of this Ultron Mark I and yes it is a thing of beauty, even if I prefer the more finished version.
Although ratings have been somewhat questionable for Agents of SHIELD in its first two seasons, the rumor mill is already churning about a potential spin off in the works, being developed by Marvel Studios. Until recently, the nature of this spin off was unknown, but according to sources at the Hollywood Reporter the show will be led by Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood.
Palicki and Blood currently star as Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse and Lance Hunter on the Marvel show, in the midst of a meaty second season. The potential spin off is raising some eyebrows, mostly because Palicki and Moore have quickly become fan favorites on the Agents of SHIELD show, and fans might be wondering how their roles will be filled going into Season Three. A slight disclaimer here… Agents of SHIELD hasn’t been officially greenlit for a third season, but it does seem likely to continue on.
This puts another intriguing wrinkle into the weekly Marvel Studios series, which is already ramping up for another exciting end of the season to tie into a major motion picture, much the same way it did with Winter Soldier last year. Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters May 1st, and promises to tie directly into Agents of SHIELD.
We’ll see how this shakes out. I’m excited to see Mockingbird getting to headline her own show, but a bit nervous at the potential gap she’ll leave behind. We’ll see how it shakes out.
For any of you “gotta catch ’em all” Hot Toys fans, things are likely getting really expensive really quickly! Today Hot Toys teased their new Avengers: Age of Ultron Vision 1:6 scale figure, and then released the pre-order for the Age of Ultron War Machine.
So while JoeCon was happening in Springfield last week, Marvel Studios was busy unleashing great new stuff upon the geek world.
As we all should know by now, Daredevil hit Netflix on Friday, and while I’ve only managed to catch two episodes so far, Marvel was kind enough to post the official red uniform! Check out the mirrored images below.
I am in full fledged GEEK OUT mode about this costume. It retains the great red style of the comic, with just the right amount of cinematic updates. I could see this guy co-existing in an Avengers universe.
Along with this,a series of clips from Avengers: Age of Ultron have been released as well, systematically blowing my mind.
Lastly, a brand spanking new Ant Man trailer was launched, and it’s about 175% better than the last one. Shrinking action, running with ants and Yellowjacket! This film just leaped up in my “must see” list. Great stuff.
I mean, seriously… can you believe this? Daredevil, Avengers, and Ant Man movie/TV news all in one weekend? What crazy world is this? It’s AwesomeWorld, that’s what.
As I recover from JoeCon, my non-G.I. Joe news will get gradually worked back in, but I’m still wanting to focus a lot of attention on the G.I. Joe side, since there’s still a lot to talk about there.
Hot Toys is beginning its tour of Asia, making the rounds at various conventions, and in the midst of doing so has begun revealing some before unseen new Avengers: Age of Ultron figures!
Their first stop is Hong Kong, at Hysan Place & Lee Theatre, where they have set up an elaborate display including some existing figures, some new figures, and an amazing diorama featuring the Hulk and Hulkbuster Iron Man going toe-to-toe.
Thanks to Marvel Studios and the wonders of the Avengers initiative, people everywhere now consider Iron Man, Thor, and Loki household names. However, two new additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch are relative unknowns.
A featurette on YouTube today hopes to change that, focusing on the ‘Super Siblings’ of the Avengers sequel. Check it out below.
Meanwhile, over on Buzzfeed.com, a long form article outlining the history of the two characters, plus a look at their role in the film can help shed some light on these two characters as well.
It amazes me at just how deep down the Iron Man rabbit hole Hot Toys manages to go, and I imagine they find folks only too eager to drop down there with them. Those high end collectors bank rolling full “Halls of Armor” with $200+ 1:6 scale figures are a community of folks I’m sure I’ll never mix with, but I can’t argue how gorgeous the toys are.
The Mark VII Stealth Iron Man is from the first Avengers film and looks striking in this new dark paint scheme. Check out the newly revealed images below. Pre-Order information sure to follow.
Don’t miss the boat! The first Avengers Hawkeye sold out quick and now goes for some insane amount on the secondary market. This update looks absolutely amazing and is up for pre-order on Sideshow Collectibles’ website NOW.
Check out the link below and go get ‘im! I know I will…
