News from the G.I. Joe Collectors Club roundtable – FSS 4.0 and PYTHONA!

It was a whirlwind 60 minute panel this afternoon as the G.I. Joe Collectors Club revealed their assortment for FSS 4.0 as well as the 2016 Club Exclusive figure and vehicle/figure assortment.

Because of some confusion last time with artwork being misinterpreted as final figures, they did not reveal any artwork or mock ups, just the list of names.  The lineup is as follows:

  1. Barricade
  2. Billy (Cobra Commander’s son)
  3. Bullhorn
  4. Interrogator
  5. Law & Order
  6. Cobra Inferno B.A.T.
  7. Nunchuk
  8. Night Creeper (Ice Ninja)
  9. Pathfinder
  10. Jammer (Z-Force Communications)
  11. Tiger Force Sneak Peek (UK Repaint)
  12. Tiger Force Outback (UK Repaint)

Items of note are that Billy will be the adult version, and not the child, Law & Order will be based on their classic color scheme, the Inferno B.A.T. will be based on the v1 look (expect some translucent red).  Night Creeper is based on the ’98 repaint, while Jammer will be using the Convention exclusive Stalker head sculpt.

Tiger Force Outback will have a newly sculpted head as well as the UK deco while Sneak Peek was promised a newly tooled accessory!  The periscope, perhaps?

Along with the fourth FSS, the Collectors Club announced their 2016 Club Incentive offerings, including PYTHONA!!  A shocking development for sure, and one that had the fans standing in their seats.

Along with Pythona, the Club announced a Heartwrencher with 4-WD vehicle as their vehicle/figure incentive, too.  Heartwrencher was a Dreadnok created in the Devils Due universe who has never had her own action figure made before.

All in all, this sounds like an exceptionally solid line up for the fourth FSS and finally getting a Pythona figure as the incentive?  Truly astounding.  Kudos to the Club for ponying up and getting it done!

  1. The Dreadnok in question is “Heartwrencher”, not “Heartbreaker”. There was even a pseudo-gag of her carrying around an obscenely oversized wrench as a personal weapon.

Is the Club changing the name or is there some miscommunication here? If the Club just plain has the name wrong, is there a chance of them getting the right one?

I do not blame them on bit, considering how much some of the worst ‘fans’ can be the loudest.

Not sure how I feel about Pythona. The ‘modern era’ is not my favorite style, but as the only official Pythona I am sure I will get her.

The Inferno BAT sounded cool at first, but then I remembered How the ‘modern’ BAT looks like a cosplayer. I guess if the BAT and Heartwrench-Breaker look really good I might go after them too.

I could be a lot happier if Hasbro had gone with an improved O-ring style and scale 8 years ago…

  3. I’m really happy for those who wanted both Billy and Pythona. Its been a long time coming for them and its a great feeling to have the figures you want come out. (Know how that feels with concept case Gung-Ho in the 2 packs). FSS 4 is a great line up. A little disappointing with some of the choices but still worth signing up again, with having at least 7 figures of great interest- 8 with the 13th. Hopefully it will be more of a secret this time around

  4. So, three questions-
1 When can I throwdown and order/earn/buy these?
    2 How?
    3 How much?
