I was vaguely interested in this book even before I was re-captivated by Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Classics line. But now, that I’m even more into the great history of MOTU, yeah, this is a no brainer.
Check out the trailer for the art book below, and pre-order your copy on Amazon for a late April release. This looks fantastic.
The Flash had me hooked about ten minutes into the pilot, and honestly, it hasn’t let up much all season long. It’s been a thrill, and unlike many TV series out there who seem to almost be embarrassed to be based on comic books, The Flash embraces it and runs with it (lol). It is unabashadly a comic book television show and I’m happy to see it.
Between Firestorm, Gorilla Grodd and the Reverse Flash, the supporting cast has made this a success almost above all else, but I feel like the latest episode “Out of Time” could make the series amazing… or it could be a huge step in the wrong direction.
Beware, spoilers abound for anyone who is not caught up with the latest episode!
It was first previewed yesterday, and today the pre-order has gone live. Sideshow Collectibles’ roster of sixth scale comic book heroes is steadily growing, and the Emerald Knight is now part of the team!
Check out the links below with some images to drool over as well.
It seems like more and more often, Kickstarter is becoming a hub for exciting new action figure and action figure company concepts, and I have absolutely no problem with that. The retail world is changing, and I like this adaption to that change.
The latest project making the Kickstarter push is a toyline called Lost Protectors from a company called Play With This Too, made up of former Hasbro employees who are going out on their own in a pretty exciting direction.
These figures have some really crazy design aesthetics and stand at the 6″ scale, pulling from science fiction robots, fantasy warriors, and all sorts of other cool themes. With a unique modular construction, you can swap parts around, plus use the great looking head sculpts on other 6″ scale figures. It’s a really cool, unique look.
Sitting at around $65,000, they have a little ways to go to make their goal, and only 10 short days to do it, so if you’re on the fence, toss some support their way and see if you can push them past that limit. Anything we can do to encourage new toy makes to enter the industry is a great thing.
Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’ve held a copy of Jeremy Dale’s work in your hands. As one of the primary artists of the 25th Anniversary Comic Pack comics, Dale left his legacy on the G.I. Joe world, putting Hama’s words to pictures throughout several comic pack-ins during the 25th Anniversary line.
Mr. Dale unexpectedly passed away several months ago, leaving the comics community in stunned silence.
Not many details have been revealed about his untimely death, but now, one of his closest friends, Joe Peacock has written an emotional essay about the common flu that quickly became uncommon and took his friend far too soon.
Also, this weekend at South Carolina ComicCon, we will be paying tribute to the life and work of Jeremy Dale with a Drink and Draw on Saturday, March 21, from 7PM until whenever at Quest Brewing Company. Whether or not you can draw, you can most certainly drink. Come on out and celebrate with them.
I’d guess probably not, considering the source material, but the actress playing her certainly has a history of it.
According to io9 Ruth Negga, currently sprouting thorns on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has been cast as Tulip, the female lead for Preacher, the upcoming AMC television series based on the landmark Vertigo comic from several years back.
Politically and religiously irreverent, Preacher has been struggling in development morass for a while until producer Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg took the reigns and are making some things happen. Several years ago I doubt anything remotely close to Preacher could ever exist on a media platform, but with the success of the always line-pushing The Walking Dead, things are a lot more possible. I’m looking forward to it.
