Yesterday we started off with Budo and Kwinn, and the G.I. Joe: Retaliation Wave 3.5 reviews continue full steam ahead with the Crimson Guard! While I like the Crimson Guard quite a bit, I have a very well defined purpose in my head for them, and I wasn’t sure this new figure would fit that purpose.
You know what, though? It ended up working much better than I thought it might. Check out the review on my G.I. Joe: Retaliation Review Page or the direct link below.
After the past few months, I’m sure it felt to many folks like this drought of G.I. Joe product might never end. But according to several sources, that drought is officially over!
I reported yesterday that Big Bad Toy Store had begun processing pre-orders, and no sooner had I posted that than Shin-Gouki and Naked_Snake found remnants of Wave 3.5 at their respective local Toys “R” Us stores in Texas and Arizona.
But wait, that’s not all. Over on Twitter, Flag Points is reporting that a friend of theirs found the new G.I. Joe Kre-O Ghoststriker at a local Toys “R” Us in California!
So on the same day as this monster DVD/Blu-Ray release, the toys supporting that release are starting to hit stores. Hopefully it all comes together right and this blitz can capture some more new G.I. Joe buyers and fans in its wake. Great news!
We heard about this last week, and now we have it all on video, and uploaded it to YouTube. It’s unknown whether that’s truly Ray Park under the mask (though I seriously doubt it), but man… Snake Eyes can pitch with some style, and he’s apparently a Southpaw! Check it out below.
Some additional details:
Paramount has confirmed (as well as several social media sites) that Ray Park was actually the one in the uniform throwing out the first pitch, which is awesome. Big ups to Ray for doing that! We also have some great images of the event below the video.
I meant to get this up yesterday, but unfortunately the crazy G.I. Joe: Retaliation Blu-Ray release chaos slipped this down the priority list a little bit. Never let it be said that I don’t try to get the word out about IDW’s Real American Hero title, though… best comic on the market right now! Here is a preview for issue #192, which hits your local comic shops today.
