High Res Press Images of upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation Wave 3.5

We’ve seen press images of Wave 3.5 from Toy Fair and the G.I. Joe Convention, but as many have noticed, product has changed pretty significantly since those initial press images surfaced.  Hasbro’s excellent public relations department has posted their latest renditions of these press images, and here they are below!

Enjoy!

  1. i really do love everything. super excited, but so utterly disappointed that s.e’s arah headsculpt got switched for the movie version. that’s a major bummer…but at least we’re getting all the new figures! someone please sculpt up an arah version based on the originally revealed proto.

  2. Hasbro really packed this series out with the extra heads, the drones, loads of weapons, etc. Really getting your money’s worth with these.

So Storm Shadow’s CLAW is actually a whacky action feature accessory. Hope Cobra Commander’s FANG is actually a copter pack.

Man, Duke basically comes with an armory, a generic head for troop building capability, and a drone.

Good idea including the Blue Ninja head with the Combat Ninja.

Weird that they’re doing Rock’s tribal tattoos but aren’t doing his fairly simple “Brahma Bull” tattoo on his other arm.

Never going to understand the appeal of the Data Viper. Just so clunky and goofy looking.

  3. I was completely uninterested in Data Viper, until I saw him without all the gear. He looks awesome once you strip all that bulky stuff off. Love the head especially.

Really disappointing that we didn’t get the new CC helmet and SS head. Would have much rather they dumped a few accessories elsewhere in the wave and gotten us the new tooling.

And of course they totally screwed the pooch on Combat Ninja’s paintjob. Why they would take one of the most popular upcoming figures and strip off all the cool paint apps and retain the silly rocket launcher is a real mystery. Crap.

  4. the original proto version shown was more v2 accurate. it had breathing holes and a slight mouth divot like v2 se. i was very excited to see that attention to detail…i could of course “always just the one from v54” but it doesn’t change the fact that i liked the new headsculpt for a truly more accurate v2 se.

Well, you probably already have him in-hand thanks to the three-pack, but, yes, the head is pretty nice. Makes me regret passing on him.

And I get why they included the missile – they probably wanted some sort of action gimmick no matter what (even though Duke and Lady Jaye’s gimmicks seem to merely be “LOOK AT ALL THIS CRAP WE COME WITH!”)

  6. I hate when people say to stop putting kid friendly elements into the figures, G.i. Joe won’t last if they don’t. Look how successful wave 1 and 2 because of those kid friendly elements, thats why this wave is perfect, it combines that and adult appeal. Duke and Storm Shadow please!

  7. Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander and the Cobra soldier all come with alternate heads. Why not Snake Eyes

  8. I do have the three pack, but I find the color scheme (along with the head) on the DV to be really bad-ass.
