G.I. Joe: Retaliation Steelbook pre-order on Walmart.com

It wasn’t too long ago that a foreign Amazon site was reporting a Steelbook version of the upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation film, and now Walmart.com has a pre-order listed to confirm this release.  The Steelbook comes with the 3D version, the Blu-Ray version, as well as a DVD and Digital copy of the film, all in one deluxe artistic case.  The presentation is awesome, using a lot of the same artwork we saw from the Regal Cinema’s Exclusive poster.  I’ll be putting my order in, that’s for sure.

Check out the pre-order link here, and the image below.

G.I. Joe Complete Collection continues assault on Amazon.com

Yes, this is a plug, but please trust me when I say that this plug is a plug for something that I think all G.I. Joe comic fans will enjoy.  IDW Publishing has been working alongside Mark Bellomo in developing the “G.I. Joe Complete Collection” which is a collection based assortment, taking stories from the Marvel Comics universe and bringing them all together into one cohesive series of volumes.  This includes the Real American Hero main title, the Yearbooks, and Special Missions…and believe it or not, also the “in between” issues from the 25th Anniversary Comic Packs.

At first glance, this may seem like an odd inclusion, as the art and format of the comic packs doesn’t necessarily lend itself to meshing seamlessly with the surrounding issues.  But trust me when I say, it actually works really well.  Mark is a very good friend of mine, and I know he has been working long and hard putting these volumes together, and as a G.I. Joe fan of three decades, he is really pouring his heart and soul into it, as well as consulting with Larry Hama and others to ensure the format and vehicle is what it deserves to be.

Reviews from folks who actually have the books in hand have been glowing.  Don’t miss out. Both volumes 1 and 2 are available at Amazon.com right now, with Volume 3 on the way soon.  Hit the banners below to pick these up!

PRE-ORDER (to be released September, 2013):

Danger Girl and GI Joe artist John Royle has original art from the series for sale

Recently, IDW Publishing released an really fun limited series Danger Girl and G.I. Joe which evoked some very cool Sunbow-esque memories.  Some great over the top writing and over the top artwork really married the two universes pretty seamlessly together, appealing very strongly to both the G.I. Joe and the Danger Girl crowd.

The artist for the series John Royle dropped me a note over the weekend to let me know that he has original artwork from the series for sale on his website JohnRoyleArt.com!  Some very cool pieces there, you should head over there and check them out.  If there’s a piece you want that you don’t see, drop him a line, he may have it still. If you’re in the market, hit up JohnRoyleArt.com and grab some up!
