First look at some promotional artwork for G.I. Joe: Retaliation film

This comes to me from a reported former designer at one of Paramount’s art agencies…thanks to him for forwarding this along!  He’s not entirely sure what the purpose of this poster was, but it was some sort of promotional artwork. I know we’ve been seeing a lot of the photo-realistic posters, but this one is pretty unique and interesting with a real artistic flair.

    Looks like the cover of a bootleg DVD. In fact I hope that’s what it is. I’ll risk imprisonment to own that.

    Maybe the artwork for the novel??? I haven’t seen anything yet if there’s going to be one, though. I’m not talking about a graphic novel, either. I was looking forward to reading it.

    I’m referring to a mass market paperback novel. There was one for ‘Rise of Cobra’ and even a prequel paperback novel for the movie. But so far I haven’t seen anything if there’ll be one for ‘Retaliation.’
