G.I. Joe Collectors Club Figure Subscription Update

The latest email from the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club gives us an update on the FSS… looks like we may be getting an early Christmas present!  See the email below:

“Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

This is going out to everyone who subscribed to the GI Joe Collectors’ Club Figure Subscription Service.

If any of you have moved since you placed your subscription order it’s time for you to update your new address!

Please click here to log in and check your account!

We are anticipating that the first two figure shipment will ship before Christmas so that means you have until December 2nd to update your address.  After that date, we do not guarantee that your shipment will go the correct address.

In order to get all of the orders out the door in one week, we need to start the printing and prep for all of the orders we received starting on December 3rd.

Provided that our shipment from China is not delayed, we are working on getting all orders out the door before Christmas.  We will hopefully start sending them out the week before Christmas.

For those of you who have purchased on the installment plan, we anticipate that the second billing will take place in mid-January so we will give you updates as soon as we know the final schedule.

Thanks for all of your support and we hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season!

PS. If you have any questions, you can use the link at the bottom of the log in page to contact customer service.”

GeneralsJoes reviews Transformers: Prime Complete Season Two on Blu-Ray

Yes, it was G.I. Joe: Renegades that brought me to The Hub, but Transformers: Prime has kept me here with the absence of G.I. Joe animation.  Getting steadily better with each episode, we now have the second season of Transformers: Prime out on Blu-Ray!

Shout! Factory was kind enough to supply me with a review copy, and you can check out the review in my Miscellaneous section, or  via the direct link below.

GeneralsJoes reviews Codename: Iowa’s Assembly Required 2012 Exclusives

Ever since I saw these  great looking posters online for the 2012 Assembly Required show, I’ve been dying to get a closer look.  Thanks to the awesome guys at Codename: Iowa I have had that chance, and I’m happy to say these offerings have more than met my expectations.

To celebrate Black Friday weekend, Codename: Iowa is offering the entire run of their 2012 exclusives for $175 on their Goodsmiths store.  That’s 31 minimalist posters, 2 screen print posters, 2 sets of buttons, and a t-shirt!  There are not many of these in existence, if you want them, now is the time.

* Minimalist posters *

  • These posters are minimalist designed based on the action figures that where found on store shelves in 1982 and 1983. Each poster is 12.25″ x 18.25″ printed on 100 lb. cover weight, acid-free paper. These two sets have a total of 31 posters. They come sealed in a clear bag with a display card showing all the characters on the back. Only 30 sets have been made and ever will be made in this format.

* Screen Printed Posters *

  • 12.5″ x 19″ poster
  • 1 color screen printed on Neenah Classic Linen, 80 lb cover
  • Signed and numbered. Only 25 of each.

* Minimalist Button sets *

  • These buttons are minimalist designed based on the action figures that where found on store shelves in 1982 and 1983. Each set has 16 buttons on a custom card fashioned after the iconic packaging.

Other items you see in the review are promotional items like name tags, a keychain and other items not specifically mentioned in the review were all bonus items randomly packaged into the sets for sale.  Another very cool bonus from the Codename: Iowa guys.

These are truly one-of-a-kind items, so hit up my review at the link below, and pick them up at the Codename: Iowa Goodsmiths store.

To stay up to date on all of the Assembly Required 2012 happenings, keep looking at the Codename: Iowa Facebook page as well.

Happy Thanksgiving from GeneralsJoes

Just wanted to take a few moments this morning to give a big thank you to all of my readers, my sponsors, and people who take valuable time out of their day to drop me a line and let me know they appreciate the site.

This website has been a labor of love for many, many years, and it makes me very grateful that people enjoy what I do as traffic continues to improve, even during a year where very little G.I. Joe news occurred.

Looking forward to 2013 I cannot wait to see what comes from the G.I. Joe brand, and I greatly look forward to sharing it with you all.  I hope many of you have lots to be thankful for (in the toy world and in your “other lives” as well).

As you eat your fill of turkey and stuffing today, take a few moments to remember those folks who have given up their holiday and in many cases their lives so we can take this day and celebrate it with people we love.  Enjoy it, and if you’re mentally preparing yourself for Black Friday shopping, you’re a braver man (and woman) than I.

Happy Thanksgiving, folks.

The Loyal Subjects expand the reach of G.I. Joe into cultural phenomenon

It’s been a while since G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero was considered a cultural phenomenon, but production company The Loyal Subjects seems to think the brand still has some serious cultural significance.

Under license from Hasbro, The Loyal Subjects are producing a line of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero mini-figures that will come blind-bagged and will be available at many of your favorite online retailers.  The roster of characters includes:

  • Snake Eyes
  • Destro
  • Cobra Commander
  • Storm Shadow
  • Zartan
  • Duke
  • Gung-Ho
  • Snow Job

According to HissTank.com there will also be two chase figures, though I’m not sure what to expect there.  Along with these great looking mini-figures, skateboard decks have also been designed by The Loyal Subjects.

You can check out images of these fine products below, expecting to be for sale in February or March, 2013!  You can see some more details on Big Bad  Toy Store here and here.  Thanks to Dan Uthman on Twitter for the info.

GeneralsJoes Holiday Buying Guide

You may have noticed the little banner off to the left.  I have posted a GeneralsJoes Holiday Buying Guide with links to my various sponsors as well as some links to Amazon and Sideshow Collectibles products that G.I. Joe fans might find interesting.

I’m open for any other ideas, so please let me know if there is anything you’d like listed here.

Assembly Required 2012 – AVAC’s Lab Terror Drome diorama

I don’t think the pictures even do this thing justice….  I talked about Assembly Required from the Codename: Iowa guys last week, and one of the showcases of that even was, without a doubt, the diorama by customizer/genius AVAC.  He’s famous for his HISS Tank themed and construction vehicle themed customs, but this diorama set totally goes above and beyond.  It’s simply spectacular.

These images were featured on HissTank.com, and the video was shared by the Codename: Iowa Facebook page that really shows the size, scale, and scope of this amazing diorama.

All I can say is I wanna play with this thing!  Just imagine the dio-story potential here… wow.

Check out the images and the embedded video below.  I think this qualifies as a Kick Ass Custom, to be sure.

Don’t forget you can also hit up the Codename: Iowa Goodsmiths store and pick up some of the great exclusive pieces they had for sale at the show.

Preview of IDW Publishing Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow #19

The Target: Snake Eyes event continues, which looks to wrap up the current iteration of the IDW G.I. Joe edition until 2013.  There will likely be a final wrap up, but somewhat ominously, when new writer Fred Van Lente was asked where Snake Eyes was in the next step of IDW’s G.I. Joe evolution, he simply said “Read Snake Eyes’ book“.

So, what do you think, kids?  Something drastic coming?  Check out the preview below as we hurdle closer to a potential universe-defining event in Target: Snake Eyes!

Snake Eyes & Stormshadow #19

Chuck Dixon (w) • Alex Cal (a) • Alex Cal (c)

TARGET: SNAKE EYES part four! Is the mission to bring down the Arashikage Clan a matter of national security or a private vendetta for SCARLETT? And, when it comes to a life or death battle with SNAKE EYES, who will walk away? The answers lie here in the most game-changing, controversial G.I. JOE storyline this year!
