Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson confirms re-shoots in the works for G.I. Joe: Retaliation

As we’re all waking up a little groggy this morning from the onslaught on our emotions yesterday, we go right to Twitter and see that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has essentially confirmed what many of us are thinking.  The move for G.I. Joe: Retaliation wasn’t simply to convert the film to 3D, there are also some reshoots and new scenes being filmed.

Whether these new scenes are due to early screening reactions, or as The Rock says simply are being done to better take advantage of the new 3D technology is still unknown, but that is currently the spin.

Check out the Twitter post right here.

  1. I can only hope they take this time to make the story better also. Remember the first X-Men movie? There are a few bits here and there that could have stood a post-edit and dialog/action change. Perhaps the silver lining is that G.I. Joe will be… more better-er? If I HAVE to think positively, it is that I WANT THIS TO BE THE BEST JOE MOVIE EVER.

In other news, what will Hasbro be doing regarding Retaliation product? Much has shipped, much is in production, and much is planned; all of it is dependent upon this film.

  2. well…that probably explains the ”reshoots” i saw that were happening over at the NASA facility.

  3. Ugh, I hope this doesn’t mean they’re simply adding two dozen scenes of slow motion crap flying at us.

  4. You KNOW that’s exactly what they’re doing. You don’t re-shoot scenery-chewing, character-developing dialogue for 3-D. It’ll be nice eye candy but have sweet F.A. to do with the storyline. Yikes.
