What’s on Joe Mind Episode 53 is online!

The past few episodes of What’s on Joe Mind have been somewhat of a whirlwind…between the big 50th Episode, the special edition focusing on G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and our one year anniversary we’ve been trying to do a lot of special things.  Well, episode 53 the guys get back to basics a little bit, bringing 12″ aficionado Ace Allgood back to the show and beginning the push towards JoeCon 2012!

I unfortunately had to sit this one out as my hectic business trip to Kansas City left me with strep throat, but I’m looking forward to listening to it with the rest of you guys!  Check out the newest episode on our Podbean page, or listen via the embedded player below.  As always, show notes are after the jump.

SHOW NOTES

After the build up of the last couple of weeks, we finally got a chance to slow down and return to our more casual roots of reporting on the fandom.  We gave Justin the week off because his throat hurt from making howling sounds at the moon fending off his new log cabin homestead site from bears, wolves and catamounts in the New Hampshire outback.  Speaking of outback, able bodied Austrailian and Fwooshcast co-host Craig joined us along with our FAVORITE 12″ collector, our buddy Ace Allgood.  We catch up on the latest 12″ community happenings with Ace including the GIJCC 12″ MAN OF EVIL figure, what happened at JoeLanta, and how the 12″ community is reacting to the issues of the GIJCC.  In the second half, we go to the mailbag first and read a letter from a listener who had “the best Joe Day EVER!”  In the news we talk about the new Retaliation pre-orders available from most retailers (we recommend Kokomo Toys for your Retaliation needs).  IDW finally pairs up GI Joe in a cross over that doesn’t involve robots (THANK YOU!).  Amazon has begun selling and shipping their exclusive Retaliation and Renegades 4-packs.  Plus information on the latest GIJCC newsletter and JoeCon set reveal of Col. Brekhov.  Shogi Scott once again does a great review, this time of the 2010 JoeCon Vacation in the Shadows set – if you don’t have one, you’ll want to hear all about it!  It’s the STRETCH RUN to the 2012 JoeCon in NOLA!  The push begins now… (this is your cue to go listen!)
