GIJoeClub.com debuts packaged G.I. Joe: Retaliation G.I. Joe Trooper

Showcasing a figure which promises to be an early favorite among the fans, the GIJoe Club website has posted an image of the carded G.I. Joe Trooper from the G.I. Joe: Retaliation toyline.  This is a fantastic looking figure and once again forces me to rethink my “G.I. Joe shouldn’t have generic troops” mindset.  Between this and the Steel Brigade, I’m amassing (or will soon amass) a large number of the faceless and the nameless.

Check out the full image at GIJoeClub.com.

Don’t forget you can see even more detail on this great looking figure over at CardedHeroes.com.

  1. He comes with the light blue mask and cape after all…..sigh…..

You know, it seems like no matter how hard I try to champion this line they just keep stooping to new lows to try and kill my enthusiasm,……..and well….they’ve pretty much done it. This was one I was really looking forward to, but with the light blue and bright orange accessories….um…no thanks.

I was so looking forward to the first wave, now I find myself not even sure if I’ll buy a single one. The only figure that they haven’t ruined is Red Ninja, but the 3-pack Red Ninja just looks so much better ( as do all the 3-pack figures….unless they ruin those as well with neon accessories) so why bother?

I have two cases on pre-order and have to make my mind up before April 23rd apparently. Right now I’m leaning towards cancelling my order, that’s how disapointed I am.

Bottom line, I never met a kid when I was growing up who liked neon accessories, so I highly doubt any kids like them now. Whoever is making these decisions at Hasbro doesnt know shit about their target audience (and I don’t mean us old timers).

    Can’t wait for next year.

  2. Dude, you’re getting way too uppity about this figure. Nothing on this figure is actually neon. If you really think there is, then you need to go relearn what neon actually is. You make it sound like this guy is right out of 1994 where every weapon was the same bright color and that’s not the case. His shovel is orange. Big woop. Paint it if it’s that big a problem. Same with the helmet and cape. Or just throw them away. Keep in mind that this may not be a finished product. We’ve seen a production figure that was different. Until we see more actual figures or until these hit stores, you can’t know for sure.

  3. That carded image could just be a mock up. Don’t be so quick to assume ‘variant’ or ‘chase.’ etc. Who knows when the Club got these images and who knows if it’s the image the were “supposed” to get. But we’ll see.
