G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer to appear on big screen with Mission: Impossible 4

Tired of squinting at your TV screen to see the G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer?  Well, those days are numbered…

According to Jon Chu’s very active Twitter account, we have confirmation that the G.I. Joe: Retaliation teaser/trailer (I still can’t believe it’s just a teaser!!) will appear in movie theaters before Mission Impossible 4 and the Dark Knight Rises preview!  Incredible news!

The Dark Knight Rises preview is going to be the hottest ticket in town and the idea that all of those viewers right in our wheelhouse will get exposed to the awesomeness of G.I. Joe: Retaliation is fantastic news.  I think this is a great move promotion wise by Paramount, especially with such a strong trailer to present the continuation of the G.I. Joe film universe.

I followed up with Mr. Chu on Twitter as well, and he responds that once Mission Impossible 4 hits regular theaters, the trailer will appear there as well.

The news just keeps getting better.  It’s early, but I’m already getting a very good vibe from G.I. Joe: Retaliation…so far, they’ve been doing things all right.

Meanwhile, while you’re waiting, check it out on YouTube.  I’ve only seen it 1400 times or so.

  1. When you first mentioned having watched it a dozen times or so, I rolled my eyes and thought “Man, he’s obsessed.”.

…and now I’m pretty close to that number myself, including two viewings with my young daughter.

Meanwhile, according to NPR, the Mission Impossible film itself is really, really good. So there’s a bonus. I’ve never seen any of the others (though Philip Seymour Hoffman left me tempted to see the third one), but the fact that Brad Bird directed this new one is enough to get me interested.

  2. Dude! They are all awesome and actually different enough to make it interesting. They have a very different feel to each of them. But start with number one because they progressively get more….um…impossible…lol. Third one was by far the weakest though, so I hope this new one gets back to the heights of one and two.

And yeah he’s obsessed, aren’t we all?
