The countdown to the G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer continues!

With each day, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has posted an image counting down to the big trailer reveal of G.I. Joe: Retaliation tomorrow night!  Today was no different, as he Tweeted yet another great image from the G.I. Joe motion picture sequel.

I think we’re all still trying to figure out exactly how it will be released…sounds like there will be a number of ways.

  • Entertainment Tonight has promised a “look at footage” for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, but has not specified that the new trailer will launch there.  Certainly somewhere to look, though.
  • GIJoeMovieUK on Facebook has said the trailer will launch there at 12:30am Tuesday, which is technically 7:30pm Monday Eastern Time.
  • On Twitter, “Amy” from Digital Royalty has said that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will Tweet out the trailer on his Twitter feed tomorrow, but a time is not specified.
So needless to say there will be plenty of opportunities, but also plenty of places to watch for.  Interestingly, the term “Exclusive” keeps being used, but it’s tough to be “Exclusive” when you’re one of three places showing it.  I dunno. What I DO know is I’ll be keeping my eyes open.  I cannot WAIT for it.

Crave Online gushes about G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer

I’ve already posted some praise that the Twittersphere has heaped upon the trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which apparently premiered with Tin Tin at Butt-Numb-A-Thon in Austin, TX last night.

Well, the guys at Crave Online where there as well, and they had even more nice things to say about the trailer, but reader beware…there is a potential spoiler in their praise in regards to a character that might make an appearance at the end of the trailer.  Click the read the rest of this story link below to read my thoughts on that.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer already getting rave reviews…and will it air before Tin Tin?

From what I can tell from scanning the Twittersphere, it would appear that the G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer aired during “Butt Numb-A-Thon” in Austin, TX last night.  “Butt Numb-A-Thon” is an regular event put on by the folks at Aint it Cool News, which often has sneak preview showings, early screenings and many other Hollywood related events.

Several folks on Twitter raved about the trailer last night, and judging by some hashtags, it would seem they viewed the trailer at this event.

First from the guys at Slashfilm:

“Just saw the trailer for @jonmchu‘s GI Joe 2 — this movie looks like everything I could ever hope it to be… Seriously!”

Editor of, Peter Hall says:

“The G.I. JOE: RETALIATION trailer gave me a boner. #bnat13wolf “

And also replied to Jon Chu with the following:

@jonmchu dude, seriously it looked awesome! #BNAT13WOLF went nuts for it.”

Lastly, Devin Faraci, who has worked for several film related sites and currently appears to operate, says the following:

“GI JOE 2 trailer has the Cobra flag being raised over the White House. AMAZING.”

So far this is what I’ve gathered from some quick Twitter related scanning…if anyone comes across anything else, let me know, but early word appears to be positive.  Looking forward to checking it out for myself!  Going to be one hell of a long wait until tomorrow night at 7:30pm Eastern.

Also interesting to note the trailer appeared before Tin Tin, which is a Paramount production, so perhaps that’s what we’ll see in theaters as well?  Tin Tin hits nationwide December 21, 2011.

New G.I. Joe: Retaliation image reveals Lady Jaye and Flint

Yeah, it’s midnight, but that’s not stopping Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson from continuing to spread the word and promote the upcoming trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation.  Along with a Tweet, The Rock has included an image of what appears to be a desert battle in the background with Roadblock, Lady Jaye, and Flint walking away from some smoldering wreckage.

I assume it’s Lady Jaye and Flint based primarily on Lady Jaye’s…  err… uniform situation, and I can clearly make out DJ Cotrona’s face behind her.

No, not a whole lot is revealed, but this is the first time we’re getting a good view of Flint and Lady Jaye in their combat uniforms.  Check out the mirrored image below!

Is it freaking MONDAY YET!??!
