Entertainment Tonight to feature a look at G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer

With big thanks to Shogi from HissTank.com who managed to snag a snippet of information from tonight’s episode of Entertainment Tonight, which not only revealed that they would look at the trailer on Monday, December 12th, but also showed a brief look at the updated Snake Eyes uniform!

Check out the mirrored image below:

Looking at that real life picture immediately calls back to the familiar IDW comic book cover to their Prequel that I pointed out a little while ago:

So the uniform depicted there certainly looks to be what we should expect.  I’m all for it!  Great eyes by Shogi, a huge thanks for the intel.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation Official Twitter, Facebook and Trailer Information!

Yo Joe, G.I. Joe fans!

It’s a Social Media world these days, and it plays a large role in promotion, interaction, and information gathering.  We all experienced this first hand over the past 24 hours as director Jon Chu gave us a unique opportunity to Tweet ParamountPics and let our voices be heard.

I’m not sure if this was the ultimate end result of that showing of our G.I. Joe fandom, but regardless, G.I. Joe: Retaliation now has an official Twitter feed, official Facebook page, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has revealed what we all expected was coming:

“In 3 days. World premiere. The movie trailer that puts Boots To Asses. #GIJoeRetaliation.pic.twitter.com/vM45WTCk

Hell.  Yeah.

I know we’ve been through this roller coaster before with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and some fans out there were less than impressed with the end result.  I think anyone who has seen what Retaliation has shown us so far can’t help but be excited with the new vision for the G.I. Joe universe.

It looks like Monday will provide the first handful of answers to many G.I. Joe fans’ questions, and I for one, cannot WAIT.

Here we go!

G.I. Joe: Retaliation announcement to come on The Rock’s Twitter feed!

I have an announcement!  There will be an announcement!

Yes, I’m posting this to announce the fact that there will be an announcement.  It’s my site I can do what I want, so there.

I just had to take a few minutes to thank the scores of fans out there who absolutely bombarded @ParamountPics Twitter feed over the past 18 hours!  According to director Jon Chu, our Tweets made a difference and made an impact.

In fact, he just barely Tweeted the following:

“To all the G.I. JOE RETALIATION FANS out there, you guys rock!! Literally…Check out@TheRock twitter page for an announcement soon…”

So, it sounds like an official announcement is coming soon, quite likely in regards to the launch of the first trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation.  Sure, we’ve been working with a timeline that the UK Facebook Page provided earlier today, but considering no official announcement from the actual production team has come yet, that must still be considered rumor.  Hopefully not for much longer.

Once again, a big thanks to the G.I. Joe fans out there who helped spread the word, and thanks to Jon Chu himself for directing us to the right place.  This new era of Social Media is such an awesome thing, and it feels great to be able to have a somewhat direct interaction with the folks behind the scenes.  Too cool.

Everyone rest up this weekend, we may be in for an explosive day on Monday (if not before!)

G.I. Joe: Retaliation SuperPage Updated and ready for trailer craziness

Anyone who has checked out my site in the past few years has probably grown accustomed to my “SuperPages”.  I originally started them in 2009 when the case pack outs for the Rise of Cobra toyline were bizarre and getting somewhat tough to visualize, and just kind of never stopped.

If you look in my upper menu you’ll see a Drop Down for “SuperPages” and can follow all of them right in that row to see all the different segments of G.I. Joe that I’ve covered with them.

Well, I started one for G.I. Joe: Retaliation a few months ago, but hadn’t been keeping real up to date with it.  Today I spent some time getting it refined and a bit more comprehensive, and also got it ready to be consumed by TRAILER MADNESS.

Hopefully it’ll receive it’s first trailer update on Monday, around 7:30pm Eastern.  I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Check out the G.I. Joe: Retaliation SuperPage right here.

As always, if you see anything glaring, please leave a comment and let me know, and I’ll try to fill in any holes or make the information a bit more clear.

Robert Atkins continues to reveal details behind Cobra Commander’s redesign

Wow, this is great.

Robert Atkins, over the past few days has been updating his blog with some great information and details about the whole redesign of Cobra Commander’s uniform based on how he made his dramatic re-appearance in the IDW universe this week.

Well, today is no exception.  Today, Atkins gets into some nice detail about the design process, the back and forth between him and Hasbro and even shows some early concepts that didn’t make it to final translation.

Some very insightful, awesome stuff.  Check it out right here.

Robert Atkins holding a custom contest and includes JoeCustoms!

So mixed in with all the awesome Cobra Commander redesign stuff, IDW’s G.I. Joe artist Robert Atkins is holding a custom contest!

He posted a great look at a specific custom figure on JoeCustoms.com and invited Joe fans to participate in a little custom contest, making a custom figure of the new Cobra Commander!  Check out the contest rules right here, get working on your custom and either email it to Robert Atkins, or post it to JoeCustoms and send him the link.

Sounds awesome!

Do we have a G.I. Joe: Retaliation Trailer Launch Date?!?

Well, we started the frenzy last night right here at GeneralsJoes by encouraging fans everywhere to Tweet @ParamountPics to release the G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer!  The result was impressive to say the least as I tracked hundreds and hundreds of Tweets throughout the night addressed to Paramount Pics.

The end result just might have gotten us a trailer launch confirmation!

Coming from the UK G.I. Joe Movie Facebook Page (which appears to be a verified page for the Paramount Production), we have a potential day and time for the trailer launch:

Now, being a UK Page, I would imagine the 12:30am reflects Greenwich Mean Time.  Eastern is technically GMT -5, so that would be 7:30pm Eastern Time on Monday, which certainly seems like a reasonable time frame.

Of course this is unconfirmed at this point, and I’m trying to contain my excitement a bit until we hear something even more official, but this certainly seems to be heading on the right track.  I think it’s no coincidence that they announced this so shortly after our Twitter barrage last night.  Well done, Joe fans!
