Hey you guys! This might be the G.I. Joe: Retaliation Snake Eyes suit!

In the flurry of activity this afternoon with the well-deserved psychosis erupting over the reveal of the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club Big Boa figure (which I am still in lust with, even several hours after first seeing it), I think some potentially big news may have gotten overlooked.

Earlier today, I posted the February solicitations for upcoming IDW Comic Books, and among those solicitations was one for the G.I. Joe: Retaliation prequel comic book.  Well, the cover of Issue #1 shows a pretty great full body shot of Snake Eyes in action…and he has a distinctly different uniform.  Which of course, begs the question, is this how he’ll show up in the upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation motion picture?

Take a peek:

First of all, no lips.  Yay!

Second of all, very cool and interesting shoulder armor, which connects to some brace that goes around his neck.  Pretty cool looking forearm guards, and what appears to be rib protection with some straps and buckles.  The distinctive lack of fake rubber-muscles is a welcome sight, too.

Time will tell if this really is the Retaliation Snake Eyes costume, but just looking at it, seems to look like a Hollywood concoction.  Hopefully we’ll see the real deal soon.

Whats on Joe Mind Episode 30 is online!

I got into such a Twitter frenzy this afternoon that I done forgot to announce that the latest episode of the Whats on Joe Mind podcast has been edited and uploaded to our awesome Podbean page.

Teaming up once again with James Kavanaugh, myself, Gary, Greg, and Chuck tackle the news of the day, have some great discussion about the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club subscription service (seems to be a weekly trend) and break down all the current G.I. Joe related events.  We also take some time to answer the mailbag.

Hit up Podbean to check out the episode, or just listen via the embedded player below.

GeneralsJoes Review-A-Palooza – The Sequel

Remember like a week and a half ago when I ran those daily reviews for G.I. Joe 30th Anniversary figures that hadn’t been officially released yet?  Yeah, that was awesome.  Guess what I’m doing again?

Starting on Monday, I will once again be diving headfirst into new product review hell!  I’ll be tackling a couple of key figures from the 30th Anniversary Wave 4 assortment that haven’t yet been covered (hmmm, I wonder who…) and I’m also happy to announce I’ll be reviewing the Dreadnoks and Slaughter Marauder 7-Packs from Big Bad Toy Store!

This will make for many late nights for me, but hopefully also late nights for the readers who get to check out all of the details and images prior to official release!

Until then, make sure you catch up on my 30th Anniversary Review Page, which has almost all of Wave 3 and also a chunk of Wave 4.  Last, but certainly not least, I must once again give props to Cobra Island for coining the Review-A-Palooza term.  I dig it.

The final G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club FSS figure is… BIG BOA!

Quite possibly the worst kept secret in the G.I. Joe fandom… the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club has revealed figure #12 in the FSS (Figure Subscription Service) and it is BIG BOA!!

A long time fan favorite, the original COBRA Trainer came out in 1987, and this modern update looks to be translated in fantastic detail.  With a great new head sculpt that looks amazingly like the vintage version, this is one hell of a nice update to the original ’87 figure.

The Collectors’ Club apparently went all out on this one, and it really shows through in the end result.  A new head sculpt, new harness, new gloved hands and a TON of training or workout gear to go along with him.  One hell of an impressive looking figure.

Check out GIJoeClub.com for the details and hit up the mirrored image below.  Hopefully now with all twelve figures revealed, we’ll start getting more details on the release schedule and pricing.  Looking forward to it!

IDW G.I. Joe Solicitations for February, 2012 – G.I. Joe: Retaliation Prequel!

Solicitations are in for the February releases for the IDW comic books, including some G.I. Joe: Retaliation prequel issues!  And the first Retaliation Prequel cover seems to show an updated movie costume for Snake Eyes.

Also, another exciting looking issue is an apparent Real American Hero Annual!  Involving the Crimson Guard, the Dreadnoks, and classic artists Sal Buscema, Ron Frenz, Ron Wagner, and Herb Trimpe!

Because of potential spoilers, I’ve posted the entire solicitations after the jump.
