G.I. Joe Collectors Club finishes the week with a bang – JINX!

Yeah, I know I’m like the last person today to report this news, but figured better late than never.  If you follow me on Twitter you already heard my yammering, but for those who haven’t, here’s the official report.

Via Twitter, Facebook, and GIJoeClub.com, the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club today revealed the 7th figure in their G.I. Joe subscription service…  Jinx.  Obviously using City Strike Scarlett as a heavy inspiration, Jinx is looking absolutely awesome with this updated tooling and colors somewhat inspired by the Valor Vs. Venom version.

A removable blindfold and some sweet weapons (also from City Strike Scarlett) gives us one hell of a nice 21st Century update to the 1987 female cousin to Storm Shadow.  I’m somewhat surprised the Club got her worked in here, since she’s in the upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation film, but here she is, and she looks fantastic.

All in one fell swoop, the Club has managed to cover a lot of bases.  This figure is a fantastic update to a character that many collectors have been clamoring for.  She’s a great tie-in to the G.I. Joe movie sequel.  She gives us a nice allotment of the City Strike Scarlett weapons we’ve been dying for, AND she looks like she would make a damn impressive version of Scarlett from the Sigma 6 universe.  Awesome.

Check out the mirrored images below, and make sure to keep tuning in to hear the latest news about the upcoming G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club FISS (FIgure Subscription Service).

  1. They really hit a homer with this one. Jinx was always a personal fave of mine and I liked this take very much. My first reaction was a little disappointment when I saw she wasn’t like the original 87 style but after examining her closely I added all the homages to all the styles of look and it just blew me away. As you say she has the CS Scarlet weapons cool but there is an homage to at least three versions of jinx that is way cool. 1. The Dragon paint app is from the 87, and the figure style looks like either Sig 6 or Valor verses venom. I love this figure.

  2. I agree with Ryan. I was expecting the ARAH original version, even though I wasn’t sure how they would create her from the parts available. I definitely prefer her unmasked head, and the uniform is a little more battle-ready than the pajamas and slippers.

  3. Seven figures revealed and there’s only two I want (Top Side and Dice). Guess I’ll resort to buying those two on eBay. It’s cool what the club is doing by offering a little bit of everything but as a ARAH fan, this program isn’t for me.

  4. I think I may be leaning towards that as well. I really want to support this endevour but man it’s getting harder with these bizarre figures they are releasing. This one is some sort of weird PoC/ARAH crossover, not really hitting home on either front. PoC in bright colors = very weird.

Hoping Cover Girl and Big Boa are homeruns.

  5. That is Valor vs Venom Jinx. And Devil’s Due period I believe. The Club set looks to be more of a Timeline Collection than a “komplete your kollection” set. I like.

  6. If the next few reveals are as solid as this one, Dice and Iron Klaw I may end up with a subscription after all. But I’m not getting one for just three figures, I need to see at least three more of this caliber before I get on board.

  7. I like this version of Jinx a lot. (Yes an RAH hero version would be cool too.) I am getting more and more excited about this subscription service.

  8. Thanks. To just add if there was only one thing I could complain about and its very minor. I wish she came with the staff from the old 87 figure. Oh well easily fixed. I’ll just use the staff from the old 87 figure lol.

  9. I’m not a fan of this ‘Jinx’ or the V-vs-V version. The could have came up with something more realistic/modern & kept the ninja flare. ‘Iron Klaw’ looks like something Chap Mei would make in one of their adventure toy sets. :o(

  10. Anyone bitching about it not being ARAH version needs to realize what the Club has to work with. There isn’t parts in the tooling library for them to do one correctly. Lord knows, if the club tried to do that version with the meager female parts they do have, you’d bitch about how inaccurate it was. The club simply cannot make entire body molds because the cost is too restrictive (This is the same reason why they haven’t made a Pythona yet). Honestly, I had a gut feeling this was the version we were going to see when the list got leaked, for the exact reasons listed above. IMO, the Club knocked it out of the park with this one. This figure is fantastic.

  11. I know it’s blasphemy, but I prefer this version over the ’87 version. I was never a big fan of her look back in the day when she came out. She just seemed too generic to me
