Five Page Previews for IDW G.I. Joe: ARAH #171 and Snake Eyes #6

Tomorrow is new comic day, and it’s the best kind of new comic day, as we get TWO new issues of IDW’s G.I. Joe books!  As I’ve mentioned a number of times, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero title is one of the most fun books I’ve read in a long time….and the Snake Eyes title has been a refreshing change of pace as well, though Robert Atkins was always a big draw for me.  Here are the five-page previews for these two latest issues, and I plan on at least trying to post a review or two tomorrow once I have the issues in hand.

Up close look of GIJCC Topside new head sculpt

It was only this past weekend that we got our first look at the upcoming G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club subscription Topside action figure.  While the bulk of the figure is reused tooling, the head sculpt appeared to be new.

Well, we now have confirmation that the head sculpt is indeed new, and not only is it new, it is awesome.  Yes, it is just a bearded head sculpt, but the detail is impressive, even for just a simple look.  It is truly astounding just how far the head sculpting has come in the past few years.  I’m not even that big a fan of Topside, but I’ll be damned if that head sculpt doesn’t almost sell me on this guy.  So much character crammed into one tiny, sculpted face.

Check it out at the GIJCC Facebook page, or mirrored below.

Another snippet of G.I. Joe: Retaliation Roadblock costume revealed on Twitter

Just a little bit, but we’ll take whatever we can get!

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Tweeted again this afternoon, making subtle reference to his massive biceps…but the best part of the Tweet?  The attached image!

Yes, the picture is blurry, but no amount of blur can hide the bad assery of that battle armor.  Obviously drawing some homage from the Reactive Armor suits from the Rise of Cobra, only more integrated into a modern day kevlar vest, this is one hell of a cool look for the G.I. Joe heavy machine gunner.  Love the sheath on the chest, love the integrated armored panels.  Just love everything about it.  Hell yeah.

My only fear at this point is that the sheer joy of seeing the trailer might cause spontaneous human combustion, which would kill me before the movie even comes out.  I’ll try and hold it together.  As always, follow Dwayne Johnson on Twitter to stay in the loop on some of this great stuff.
