G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club reveals subscription figure – TOPSIDE!

It’s been a while since we heard an update about the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club subscription, but the Club has come through today.  Many fans spotted a Topside battle stand in the display case at NYCC, but without a figure standing upon it.

Well, now we get our first look at the figure, and it looks great!  I will admit I’m not a gigantic Topside fan, but this figure certainly resembles the classic counterpoint very well and will look good in the Anniversary line amongst your others.  Very nice colors, looks like a new head sculpt, too.  Good stuff.  The context of the email and the image can be seen below:

10/14/2011 – NEW G.I. Joe Figure Subscription Service Sneak Preview: Topside!

We are almost ready! We will be sending out full information on our ALL-NEW G.I. Joe Figure Subscription service in near future, but in the meantime, we want to give you another FIRST LOOK at one of the figures… G.I. Joe Navy Security: TOPSIDE! He is making his debut here today AND this weekend at the New York Comic Con!

Each figure will be packaged on a 25th Anniversary style blister card. TOPSIDE will ship with another figure still to be announced. This figure, plus the other 11 subscription figures, will only be available through the GIJCC Figure Subscription Service from the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club. As an added bonus, when you complete the six month subscription, you will receive a FREE bonus (secret) 13th figure.

To see Quarrel and Nano B.A.T., if you are at NYCC, check them out in Hasbro’s case next to Topside otherwise go GIJoeClub.com.

Note: This Subscription Service is an additional option as a club member and is not included with your club membership fee.

SmallJoes.com and BBTS Preorders posted for 30th Anniversary Wave 3

Pre-Orders are coming down the pipe for upcoming 30th Anniversary Wave 3 G.I. Joe items.  A short while ago I hypothosized that the list we saw in Diamond Previews was not a true Wave 3 case pack out, and it looks like that assumption was at least partly correct.  The figure rundown looks to be similar, but Hasbro is double-packing the key new figures, and has a lot more army builders packed in the case.

Right now you can hit up SmallJoes.com to pre-order the case or select individual figures:

You can also go to Big Bad Toy Store and do some limited pre-orders as well, though the troop builders are already sold out.
Best news to me is that these appear to be due in November, 2011!  Sweetness.
