One thing I miss the most about not having a chance to do reviews for the IDW books recently is gushing about the Snake Eyes solo series. Keep in mind, I think Snake Eyes is exceedingly overrated and overexposed, and I cannot think of one good reason why I should enjoy a book dedicated just to him. Yet I do.
A lot of it has to do with the awesome art by Robert Atkins, but the story has been pretty decent as well. Yes, there has been a lot of Snake Eyes and a lot of Helix (which I enjoy, unlike some others), but by and large, the first 3 issues were incredibly well done. By the looks of things, #4 will be no different.
Newsrama has posted an exclusive 10 Page preview for the issue, which I will not mirror here out of respect for their site, but I will encourage you to click here to check it out.
Atkins is at his best with an awesome martial arts battle between Snake Eyes, Slice and Dice. Really cool looking stuff and some great fight choreography as always. Looking forward to checking out the full issue!
Put this firmly in the rumor mill for now, but thanks first of all to GeneralsJoes commentor “Dwindler” for possibly breaking the news that Matt Gerald has been cast as “Havoc” in the upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation film.
Once again, this is completely unconfirmed. I did hit up IMDB.com and they also have Matt Gerald listed for the role of Havoc, but keep in mind, IMDB can be user-edited, so it should not be a source of concrete film casting info.
Gerald has appeared in many television shows and films, including Corporal Lyle Wainfleet in Avatar, and Hodges from the 2011 Red Dawn remake. Time will tell if this is confirmed casting info, but until then, treat this as rumor.
EDIT – Consider this confirmed. Matt Gerald has posted the following on his Facebook page:
