The rumors have been swirling for quite some time about Bruce Willis negotiating with the brainchildren behind the upcoming G.I. Joe movie sequel, but nothing had yet been set in stone. Now, as has become common place, Twitter provides the source for studio confirmation as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Tweeted the following earlier today:
“Welcome brother Bruce Willis to the cast of GI Joe! What an honor. #HeavyArtillery.”
So there you have it. Apparently Bruce Willis is now officially on board the G.I. Joe: Retaliation train. I couldn’t be happier. Willis adds a sense of credibility and gravitas to the film, supposedly starring as Joe Colton, the grizzled veteran and founder of the modern day G.I. Joe team. How large his role is still remains to be seen, but along with Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, DJ Cortano, Ray Parks, and Elodie Yung, we’re starting to get a great idea of how this film is shaping up. That’s not even counting Falcon and Grunt, both apparently minor roles in the film, yet still some nicely established characters.
This is a great move and a great casting, and the news just continues to be good. Can’t wait to get my eyes on something.
