G.I. Joe: Renegades Episode 18 Added to Episode Guide

With absolutely no idea what this episode was going to be like, considering we never saw a promo on television, I ended up very pleasantly surprised!  Long time Joe fans will want to know that this episode was written by Eugene Son, of YoJoe.com fame, who has a long and established history writing for the animation industry.

Eugene’s ties to the Joe fandom have never been more evident than they were with this episode, as we got a number of great little Easter Eggs and a very cool, action packed 22 minutes.

Gyre Viper launches onslaught of Skystriker Images!

Without a doubt one of the most hotly anticipated releases in recent memory is the upcoming Skystriker.  And, as we should come to expect, Gyre-Viper got his hands on one and has posted a plethora of images over on JoeDeclassified.com.

Being the kind of guy he is, he’s also let me mirror them here on GeneralsJoes.  And let me just say…  ROCK.

Yeah, this thing looks impressive.  It’s got the size and the scale of the original, but with a healthy dose of retooled parts.  That cockpit looks freaking awesome with all of the updated controls, and I love the fact that we’re getting the black tailfins like the Sunbow model.

And maybe I’m in the minority, but I’m in love with that Ace, too!  I’m a big fan of the Skydive tooling, and with that vest and awesome helmet?  Great looking figure.  This will be a set to get your hands on.  Check out the JoeDeclassified thread here, and the images hosted below.

Sideshow Collectibles Desert Sniper up for pre-order

Somehow this floated under the radar…at least I haven’t seen anyone mention it (with the exception of Mysterious Stranger, who tossed me a reminder).  The latest Sideshow Collectible 12″ figure, the Desert Sniper is now up for pre-order.

The Production Blog due to be posted May 3rd will have more information and images, with pre-orders launching two days later on May 5th!  Check out a teaser image of the environment below.

New G.I. Joe themed podcast in the works – What’s on “Joe” Mind?

Well, anyone who enjoys this site will likely enjoy this podcast.  With hosts like cmderinchief (GeneralsJoes contributor), Crosshair (GeneralsJoes commentor), and chuckdawg1999 (Twitter friend of GeneralsJoes), you’re bound to hear something you like.

Giving a brief history of their own personal start with the G.I. Joe brand and a great commentary of being Joefans in the 21st Century, these guys have a good radio presence.  Sure, there are inevitable bumps along the way, but it’s entertaining, which is the important part.

I figure maybe if I keep sweet talking them, they’ll let me join them at some point…  :shifty:

Anyway…check it out right here and give it a listen!  G.I. Joe themed podcasts are few and far between, check this one out!

GeneralsJoes Reviews G.I. Joe: Real American Hero #165

Now, I try to steer my way clear of the whole “nerd rage” thing.  I think us geeks get a very bad rep for being overly invested, melodramatic and with a misconception of our own value to the brand or property we choose to support.  Because of this, I try not to overstate issues and put them in the proper perspective.

But with issue #164, I think the whole “Sneak Peek” issue was a serious gaffe that needed to be focused on.  With that out of the way, we can proceed with the Real American Hero universe and see where things go.  In this latest issue, the focus renews to the whole Billy and Dr. Venom dynamic and examines the repercussions of the attack on the Pit the issue before.
