Pursuit of Cobra HISS color change confirmed!

GeneralsJoes commentor and owner/admin of JoeDios.com Hammerfel was in attendance at SDCC and asked the Hasbro designers about this new color pallet for the HISS that was seen at preview night last night.  This is what he reports:

It’s supposed to be gray. Not brown, not black, gray. I spoke to the designer about it and I will post a thread on JoeDios.com about the new HISS and its future soon. the designer asked me to pas on word to the Joe Community. Rest assured BROWN was not the intent.”

So yes, it would certainly appear that there is going to be some sort of running change with the HISS Tank from brown to either gray or black.  Hey, I’m a big fan of the HISS as it is, but a change to a more gray (or black… please?) color scheme would only make it that much better.  A huge thanks to Hammerfel for the updated information.  He’s got some great images of SDCC Preview Night over at JoeDios as well, so keep your eyes peeled there.

    Wonder how we’ll be able to tell which is which, if it’s a running change and not new packaging.

    Indeed. I’d prefer the gray over the brown, but I might just paint it black anyways.

    Exactly…how would we be able to tell with that packaging? Also, in the pics of the dios from joedios.com the Wolf Hound doesn’t have the marbling. It has brown-ish camo instead and it’s on the launcher. I wonder if both will be running changes. Either way, short of them telling us which date codes would have the new ones I’m not sure how we would be able to know.

    You know, I honestly prefer the brown; it’s just a more “tank-ish” colorscheme.

    The HISS in the display case looked Grey to me. It looks Black in the TNI photo. I’m going back tomorrow with my family. I’ll take another close look then!

    But John assured me a future version of the HISS will be in Classic Black.
