Very cool! I’m looking forward to these two a lot. Storm Shadow is especially cool, because I’ve always been off on his thing with not using ANY guns. This one is locked and loaded and ready to go! I also like that this is one of the very few glider packs that actually looks useable! Like, if it wasn’t super tiny, I could see the thing actually working!

Zartan, too, takes on a different look that totally works for him. I think the figure is worth two buys; one for Sandstorm and one for Zartan. Then, with both figures, you get a ton of really useful extra stuff, including another Zartan head, which has the best representation of his eye tattoos that I’ve seen yet!

Storm Shadow is awesome, but that’s to be expected from ROC at this point. Only the skirted ones were underwhelming.

Bald Zartan feels strange. Perhaps the designer watched The Mummy one time too many before sculpting this one?
Whatever, he’ll be Raptor, and his disguise will be custom fodder.

  • Mysterious Stranger

I’ll definitely be stealing that Lowlight custom idea. I thought that head would be perfect for Lowlight when I first saw it at JoeCon and now I know what base figure to use.

Zartan is a figure I fell in love with at JoeCon and everytime I see it again I love it even more.

Storm Shadow does nothing for me. I might skip it when it comes out since I think we’ll see the legs and hood in the Resolute 7-pack.

Thanks for swapping the head on the ROC Firefly Justin. I’ve got one on the way and I’m looking forward to finishing my Low-Light custom.

zartan is a certainty…probably two, as usually once i have a figure posed for display, i usually dont revisit it to swap out heads and vests.

i was leaning towards “no” on storm shadow, but now im leaning towards “likely”. just east of the fence, but certainly ive a better opinion at this point. whether i get him or not, i LOVE the fact that he has scars. (i know its the “arctic” storm shadow and the cuts were sculpted in, but this is hasbro…sometimes details like that slip through)

As much as I enjoyed the review and the figures, I don’t understand why Hasbro did not use the SS body we saw at JoeCon.I’m thinking that the resolute SS is one of the figures coming in the resolute packs and the might be saving that for him.

This Zartan is in the running for my fav Zartan with the Devils Due inspired version competing with it. I like the DD’s cowl and face but this one looks so cool.

    Thanks for the AMAZING review!!!

I agree with Alexx, I’ll definitely buy 2 of the Zartans, because Sandstorm looks a lot better than I thought he would. Great figures right here.

Very cool figures – excellent reviews. Two definite must haves – with multiples of Zartan.

Is Zartan a Led Zeppelin fan? Looks like one of the Led Zeppelin 4 symbols on the back of his hood. Wonder what else is back there?

I’m really starting to wonder Zartan is an occult Easter Egg. The circled patterns on his chest could seem to reflect Sephirot placements from the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, but the symbol on his back is an unmistakable Celtic Triquetra.

Looking forward to these, especially Zatan…Is it too much to hope he wears that getup in the sequel?
    Stormy looks awesome, too…

That Zartan is great, except for Arnold Vosloo’s head on him. Too soft, I think. I really liked the 25th heads we got for the Z-man. I wish they’d ditch the movie sculpt and go with something new.

While I like the Storm Shadow, I’d rather buy a character I don’t have 3 other good versions of (and a couple lousy ones). I understand Hasbro wanting their iconic characters out there every year, but I’m simply not the target for repeats.

Unless they do something really new and cool like this Zartan.

  • Kitchen Viper

The only thing that bugs me on Zartan is the facepaint being grey instead of black. Still better than neon orange, tho…

  • Scrap Iron

Storm Shadow is cool… From the neck down. But that melon head leaves a lot to be desired. But maybe I could swap it for a better one. We’ll see. He does have nice gear.

On the other hand, I really like Zartan. But I don’t think I’ll use him for either Zartan or Sandstorm. I’m probably going to use him for Zandar with my Anniversary figures.

  • Compulsive Collector

Thanks for the Low-Light custom idea!

Not sure why my previous comment is gone now, but to everyone reading this, Zartan will make a great “Raptor” figure from 1987. Cobra’s Falconer.
