New Past and Present action figure sets revealed in GIJCC newsletter!

posted in G.I. Joe |

Some members of the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club have started receiving the latest issue of the club newsletter, and within the pages is a revelation of new Past and Present action figure sets, in the same spirit as the Target Exclusive Rockslide 2-pack!  cmderinchief is  one of those folks, and he gives us a rundown of what to expect from the Real American Hero vintage style tooling:

Snake-Eyes(from Issue #21 2005 comic 3 pack)
Destro (from Issue #24 2005 comic 3 pack)
Duke (from Issue #24 2005 comic 3 pack)
Storm Shadow (from Issue #21 2005 comic 3 pack)

I haven’t seen the images yet, so I can’t be certain what the Rise of Cobra renditions of the figures are, but I imagine they’re just the typical RoC looks…  hopefully more information as it comes available.

Hopefully they will add little fixes to the figures like they did by fixing the arms on Snow Job. The issue 24 comic pack Duke had those horrendous arms but a fantastic headsculpt. I can’t wait to see some pictures.

I was really hoping the Destro set would include his ’83 version. But now that I think about it, I think I recall someone mentioning that the mold was destroyed or lost. Might get the Snake Eyes set.

Weren’t we told by Hasbro at some point that the Snowjob mold was new, and that future RAH figures would be as well? Am I imagining that? Because while I’d love a new Duke with the comic pack head, I also want CORRECT arms. And an 83 Destro.

No not new tools, just new figures using existing tooling. All store exclusives use existing tooling as much as possible. I really can’t see Hasbro shelling out to make new tooling for old figures that will be store exclusives targeted at collectors (old and new).

I’m just suprised there isn’t a Cobra Commander in this first wave. I wonder what 25th style tooling of these figures they’ll use. Fixed Duke arms for sure because if not there will be a riot.

I like the Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. Gyre, you said you didn’t care for them, so maybe you could send them my way?
I have never liked that mold on Destro. As far as Duke goes, he looks fine to me. Maybe we will finally get a Lowlight, Zarana, Cover girl and Dial Tone this way.
Nope, scratch that. Cover Girl will be blonde ROC version and Dial Tone will be TRU desert ROC version.
They are obviously doing the ROC universe characters, so I’d imagine, Baroness, Cobra Commander and Ripcord are next.
Can’t wait to see the looks on people’s faces when Ripcord makes his debut.
Looks like the Ferret is coming with Tomax and Xamot.
