Some quick pics of Viper Commando and Neo-Viper

Alexx, one of my favorite picture takers from JoeBattleLines has snapped some images of the two initial COBRA Troopers from the G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA line, who are the Viper Commando and the Neo-Viper.  He seems to have a fairly positive opinion of the Neo-Viper especially, which I must admit I don’t really share.

Honestly I’ve been absolutely nutty about every figure I’ve checked out so far, but I haven’t even been able to spend the money on one of the Vipers yet…perhaps when I get one in hand I’ll change my mind, but for now I’ll let Alexx tell their story for me.  ;)   Check out the links back to the posts and the mirrored images below.

Man, Hawk, I can’t even get YOU on the Neo-Vipers? I was impressed with the folks I turned with Storm Shadow, but I can’t get anyone with the Vipers! Granted, I do have a major interest in technological lookin’ stuff, but I figured the Neo-Viper would at least be an interest as a specialized trooper. Ah well, can’t win ‘em all!

I’m ambivalent about these. On the one hand, there’s nothing really wrong with them quality-wise, and I like how the Neo-Viper looks wearing the “classic” Viper vest, so these pictures may have sold me on the Target Rescue Mission pack, at least. On the other, the new infantry troops have the same problem the new COBRA Commander has with me: they’re just such a radical departure from the classic 80s incarnations that it’s hard to form an opinion on them.
