IDW to Release Weekly G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA Movie Adaptation
July Comics Offer Sneak Preview of Film
San Diego, CA (May 27, 2009) – G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra takes over theatres on August 7th, but comic fans can get an advance look in July! Under license from Hasbro, Inc. and working closely with Paramount Pictures, IDW is proud to offer a four-issue weekly comic book adaptation of the much-anticipated motion picture that delivers an exclusive glimpse of what to expect, from costumes to plot twists.
ComicsContinuum.com has posted IDW “First Looks” including an outline of what to expect from the “Best of Duke” Trade Paperback coming next week. Check out the site here, or click on the mirrored images below.
IconvsIcon is reporting (via Empire) that a new international poster has been revealed for the upcoming G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA motion picture. The poster features a number of characters including The Baroness, Storm Shadow, COBRA Viper, the Doctor, Duke, Ripcord, Scarlett, and Snake Eyes! Check it out here, or just click on the image below.
Phil from JoeReloaded sends word that he’s posted a nice 5-page preview for the upcoming Rise of COBRA Movie Prequel #4 (featuring Snake Eyes). To check out the preview, plus the cover images, click here. Phil has also given me the “okay” to mirror the 5-Page preview on my site as well, so check it out in the gallery below!
Cmderinchief (from JBL and the Coil Club, naturally) comes through again, this time with a bevy of great pictures of the upcoming Heavy Duty action figure in the familiar “Reactive Armor” battlesuit. See his original thread on JoeBattleLines here, or check out the nearly two dozen images shown below.
Every picture I see of this “Reactive Armor” stuff makes me really dig it even more…it’s such an awesome throwback to Sigma 6 (which of course will piss a lot of fans off…it just makes me smile) and I’m amazed at the level of detail. Good stuff. Now cmderinchief needs to get off his ass and take a nice group shot with what he’s got so far.
